Be sure not to set your pillow on the ground somewhere. Ha!
Seriously, I'm looking forward to your pics to see how it all looks and goes together.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I went ahead and ordered 4 carabiners from Whoopiesling.com. $5.50 a piece, but shipping cost was low. Thanks again for your help!
I'd like to purchase 4 carabiners for my back up hammocks. I want them to be strong enough to hold up to 250 lb. minimum, but I don't want to pay top dollar ($5 or more a piece). Any of you know...
You might want to try using a "French Prussic" knot. A bit different, and it seems to give a better bite.
Awesome set up. Cool beans! Enjoy.
One approach to simplify things and reduce the fiddle factor is to adjust the whoopies first so they are both set at about the same length and then leave them alone. Next, do the adjusting of the...
Great idea Turtle Creek (the testing a scrap piece part, ...not the offer to buy my WBBB for half price. Ha!) Thanks!
I recently returned from an 8 day solo trip to the BWCA in my new WBBB. I developed blisters at the base of each thumb while getting used to a double bladed kayak paddle. To help speed the healing...
And if you decide to go with a cheap (I paid $10 on sale) poly tarp from a hardware store, I'd suggest you look around for a nice camo printed one. They look cool, ..and stealthy.
A cheap (around $6) simple car window sun shield from WW might be worth a look. Works great in the summer especially.
You might want to try using "French Prussic" knots. My experience is they hold more securely than a straight prussic. Simply google "French Prussic" and see how you tie it. Hope that helps.
Here's what I have done to avoid the problem you're running into: I take a short (5" say) piece of cord and tie the ends together to form a closed loop. Next I take the loop of cord and tie a...
I drilled a small hole in one end of my aluminum tube toggle, pass a thin shock cord through it and tie a knot at the end. Then I attach the other end of the shock cord to the loop on the end of my...
Ah yes, the sweet pain of delayed gratification! (Sucks, doesn't it!)
Soon, however, it will be all forgotten as you joyously dive into opening the package that arrives at your door.
Enjoy!
My two cents: I think that unless you used really thick/strong shock cord (which would add unwated weight) , your tarp could get blow around and out of desired shape during strong winds.
This is more of a long term concern, but it's always a good idea not to leave your nylon hammock or tarp exposed to the harmful and destructive rays of the sun for too long.
My experience using an ENO Guardian Bug net with a longer hammock was that when I laid down in the hammock, it would force the ends of the bug net to open up, leaving a space for bugs to enter. What...
+1, ..what he said!
+1 here too! Yippee!!
I just ordered a 1.7 single BB, so that's what I'm going with since I'm not interested in using pads. I'm not that large of a guy (185 lbs), so I felt that the single would give me more than enough...
Truly awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Don't know if you want to risk it, ..but you could add a couple of attachment loops half way up both sides of your tarp. Pulling them out then, will significantly increase the room you have inside.
I sort of combine both through the use of a larger (11 1/2' X 11 1/2') tarp. Then, by tying the hammock off to one side, it leaves quite a nice, large area for me to hang out.
...and remember to do the same with the tarp rope.
When you're using a pencil for a toggle, I guess you can dual-purpose and use the pencil to write your own obituary. Ha!.
My wife and I will be leaving soon to spend the month of March in Venice, (gulf side) Florida. I plan to do some hanging while I'm there, and I'm wondering if the mosquito population is substantial...
Yah, I would think that internal Crisco would be the better way to go on this. Ha!

I'm thinking rattlesnakes may be the reason for the requirement of using tents with continuous floors in them at Philmont.
My wife and I will be spending the month of March in sunny Florida, so that should help us in the wait for Spring. ...and yes, I will be taking one of my hammocks and tarp with me to FL.
Better hang on to that awesome wife of yours! Ha!
Good for you Urbanwild! I'm glad you had a good experience, and enjoy your new WBBB!
Greetings from WI. Great to have you on board!
Truly gorgeous and breath-taking scenery. I'm jealous!
Suggy, I'd like to know what you come up with. Thanks.
Warbonnet BB 1.7 double, ..or perhaps a Snipe. Still researching my pick.
Welcome from WI. Enjoy figuring things out, ..it's half the fun.
Having to wait is definitely a drag. It's been below zero here. Can surely identify with you.
Way to think outside the gear box, Rabid Deer!
Luckyamvc, what a great way to do your part in making Christmas last the the whole year through! Looks like you'll need to put in another order soon though. Ha!
Great story and pics. Really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.
Greetings from WI. Welcome on board!
Being relatively new to hanging, I find your confessions to be both instructive and inspiring, -- knowing that its a process your need to work yourself into over time, and to not give up if its not...
Greetings from WI Thatguy, and welcome to HF.
