Can somebody please direct me to a good set of instructions for a single layer
climashield apex 3/4 UQ that everyone seemingly know about? Thanks!
That is MY New Year's resolution!
:cool:I will never go to a bed again!!
Last night, in my hammock, I got my FIRST night where I slept for a full twelve hour, so thank you folks for giving me all the advice that helped me achieve that!! :)
How long does the bag last? Is it easy to repack and reuse? Thanks :)
Looks great! :D
Would it be safe to just use the end of the webbing as a toggle? If so, it would be great for SUL people. (This is how my 80lb little bro is doing it with his new GTUL and DIY straps I gave him :D)
Does anyone else use http://www.campbound.com/Aluminum-Tent-Stakes.aspx as toggles? For me, they are a way to carry backup stakes for my tarp.
I just got a TNF bag from my non-outdoors mom and it has sewn in loops on the foot end, so I'll use it as a peapod in fall/winter since it is a -10 to 20°F bag.
The smaller guyline (separate) holds 400lbs so I was thinking that the larger stock guyline would hold more.
I have some leftover guylines from a tarp I got from Mountain Laurel Designs, enough for a ridge line. I was wondering if it would hold me. I am about 150 pounds.
My dad did the same thing when I was ten!! I would never sleep in the bed :D
I loved the VCCB- the Vaseline-Cotton-Cellulose-Bomb! :D
I found out (through my history:blush:) that I am getting a new MLD UL spin tarp!:D
Do you get down with your rubber duckie? :)
Now seeing if I can add words after a pictures http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/19/9ydytupy.jpg my puppies!
Seeing if I can post a picture from my last hang spot http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/19/qe8y8uma.jpg
When you can buy some of that fabric, I definitely will!!
Another question (I'm full of them!);
I am one of those people that hate written instructions. So far I have found only written instructions for making under quilts (except for the odd video). Any...
I am thinking about making an underquilt and I was wondering;
Where do you all get down?
(Me wants it kinda cheap!)
+1 on the tautline hitch!
I was browsing around Mountain Laurel Designs and I found this. http://www.mountainlaureldesigns.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=122 It says the tarp is five feet by five inches....
How many ounces of down do you need to make a normal 3/4 uq? I am thinking about making a winter 3/4 uq.
I love making my own gear, and DIY gear supply is my number one vendor!!
Just got one for my brother, trying to convert him to hammocking!
Going to order 1.1 ripstop from www.diygearsupply.com
I am finally going to make my first hammock. I don't know whether to use ripstop nylon or taffeta. Suggestions please?
Sound like a great idea! I'm going to add it to a hammock I have 😃
I am probably going to salvage 1.1 ripstop from one of my tents
That tarp works amazing!
If it is a wind block, couldn't you take away the filling to make it lighter and easier to carry?
What should an UQ cover, your butt, back, both, or your whole body?
Thank you very much!
First, my name, then BS troop number
Now how do you make a footbox?
I am about 150, and only 5' 4" so, I will probably try out the M50
Thanks. I will probably use a slight variation of that design.
I'm kind of new here, so this question might have already been asked. But here it is:
What is the most lightweight DIY hammock version?
I got introduced to hammocking when a couple years ago, I got a Byer hammock, and LOVED it! since then, I have never gone to ground.
