Sun and heat will do the trick. I doubt it will be very bad but would suggest getting your gear sooner than later
Cut one down into thirds and hasn’t failed me yet. Durable as can be.
I have Monday’s off so I typically try and make my trips 4 days but a lot of factors on the time of year, household responsibilities, and other boring adult activities
Can’t you dodge the 2.5% from PayPal if they gift you the money?
I believe Enlightened Equipment makes quilts that can zip together if that is something you are looking at. Otherwise it may be cheaper to go custom if you have the means and knowledge to do so
Congrats on being able to follow your dreams and stay safe out there!
I like packing a set of Crocs for around camp after hiking in my boots all day. I almost consider them essential anymore. A small flask tends to find its way into the pack from time to time.
So did anyone get out over the storm? Looks like you guys out east got a decent amount of snow for the area.
I normally just throw some clothes into a stuff sack for a pillow to save on space and weight. Seems to work fine for me but I have been out with guys who refuse to sleep without a pillow. All...
Welcome and that's awesome! The first night out is always exciting. What was the deciding factor to make you go to hammocks from tents?
I'm going to have to agree with CeeVee on the wind situation. I know a lot depends on location but up in the mountains the wind can hit at any time and the last thing I would want out is an umbrella...
Welcome! There are tons of information here. Enjoy and sounds like hanging on a jeep trip sounds awesome
Welcome from SoDak!
Welcome! SoDak here
Weight may be close but I use my rain gear as an extra layer when it's cooler out and when my pants get wet I can use the rain gear while everything else drys out. I'm not against by any means.
Welcome. New to hanging myself! So much information out there
Welcome! That's a pretty a sweet deal
Awesome idea and good practice to keep sharp on sleeping in different elements.
Never had any issues myself
Awesome drug to be hooked on. Spendy but very enjoyable. Haha
Lay mine across my guest bed otherwise loose in a tote
Thank you very much! Very helpful
Welcome! It is almost overwhelming how much info is out there. Love this site
Thank you for the video
Stakes have a separate stuff sack for me. Allows to compress everything else better and keeps everything clean.
Unreal how much information a guy can find on this site and others out there. Didn't realize there was so much to know about hammocks
Very nice!
Have the NX -250 and absolutely love it. Plenty of space
I think you will be fine. Haven't had any issues with my revelation
Versatility was my number one reason
I have an EE Revelation 20 degree bag. Love it. Toasty and been in it to 10 degrees so far
Welcome! Crazy how much there is to learn about hammocks. I'm new to the game like yourself
Can't imagine all the work it takes to moderate such a large For Sale forum. Thanks for updates. Enjoy watching the classifieds and the more organized the better
some interesting points made. Thanks for the article!

40 mph is a lot even for a tent guy. I would have a tough time hanging in that wind! yikes
I bring it in when ever possible. If I am hiking back to the truck for an over night I bring my gear. Dry gear goes a long way on an extended trip.
Water to clean the dirt off and hand sanitizer to get the germs for me. Little bit goes a long way
Couldn't bring myself to carrying an umbrella. Added weight and bulky item. Ill stick to a baseball cap for sun and rain gear for the weather.
Welcome! Would like to make it to WI in the near future
Lots of great information! Thanks
Sleep unit all goes into one stuff sack. Fast and easy
test 1,2,3
East side near Sioux Falls, unfortunately. Hope to make it west permanently someday.
Thanks for the heads up on how to go about selling items. Very helpful and easy to navigate through!
Thanks for all of the info and pointers. Much appreciated!
Normally just use hand warmers. Seem to do the trick
