I have added reflective tracer on my tarp too for that reason. My bear bag kits is glocord to easily find in the dark too.

I haven't heard anybody say they picked there colors due to heat. Darker colors browns and blacks attracting heat more then greens or greys etc.
I had heard the opposite yellow and orange being the bug attractors. Thanks for sharing.
