How wide are they?
What would shipping be to US? Pics? Width, weight?
I have a Custom HG Premium (900fp) Phoenix that I might part with. Inbox me.
Completely agree. Very glad I found them.
I will say that when I first saw it and who made it I looked at it skeptically, but I'm not necessarily seeing what you're seeing, which is fine. That patch like thing could be a BPWD tag. Who knows?...
I look at photos for a living, but can you point out what you're seeing? BPW does have a reputation of doing really shoddy work. Someone over in r/ultralight was saying things are good now however....
I'm aware of his rep, but I heard that things are all good there now.
I saw something that might be perfect for you over at BPL. Here's a link. https://backpackinglight.com/forums/topic/huge-custom-dyneema-bpw-winter-hammock-ground-tarp-with-doors-13oz/
I love Line Locks. Right now I'm using the Line Lock Hooks https://dutchwaregear.com/product/line-lock-hook/
Hammock purse!
What is the weight?
bumpity bump
Remember that PM conversation we had? I'm still good with those numbers. Free bump otherwise.
Kitsap Cowboy‘s Glasgow KISS tarps were super nice as well and had a storm flap. With UL fabric it would be a great alternative to Dyneema.
For years I only used asym tarps. I would likely still be using an asym but went to the dark side (DCF) because of an incredible deal and my lust for lightweight. I was lucky to never get wet other...
Agreed. If you're pro Republican everything gets to stay..
PM incoming.
Got any better pics for the tarp? Condition?
I bought one and never used it. Sold it. YMMV. I think if you're not getting splash back currently, nor losing a bunch of heat from wind then you should be able to make the determination that you...
I’m a runner and before that a cyclist. Like Shug, consider myself lightweight and not UL. I’ve never weighed all my gear or done a “lighterpack” but do own DCF and 950fp quilts, etc but have a...
As also stated, 50 lbs on your back is 50lbs no matter how much you weigh.
pm incoming
Aha, got it. Still looks like the ridgeline on the ends is "open", but I see what you're saying.
To my eye the tarp ridgeline is very high, why? Am I wrong? It looks to be on the tree 2 feet above the hammock suspension. If I was rain, I'd see that as an invitation to come in. I'm sure I'm an...
Shag carpet.
Oh don’t get me started on rotational mass and bikes https://www.wired.com/2016/06/cycling-physics-extra-mass-bike-wheels-enemy/
This is certainly a popular thing to say, but it’s rarely followed and still not really relevant. Yes, overall you will weigh less, and that’s good, but 50 pounds on your back is still 50 pounds and...
I couldn’t help but notice the underquilt at 27 oz. Wouldn’t that be cheaper upgrade than a topquilt? An HG Phoenix could save you 12 oz. add a sitpad for .98 oz. unless you’re married to full length.
The Big 3 UL backpacking principles: Backpack, Shelter, Sleep system. This is because those 3 essential items are the 3 heaviest items in your kit. Generally you start there. If you can lose a half...
I got excited and thought Kitsapcowboy was back..
Got mine today. These are perfect and, in actuality, no shorter on the long side than my other whoopies - just a much shorter minimum distance.
Any idea of your budget? I may have something, but it's not cheap.
 LOL
^__ this is the explanation I most agree with here. Plastic doesn’t absorb water. Water hangs around via surface tension, but a silnylon/poly will absorb water and weigh more after being rained on...
As I understand it, the only difference between a Bridge pullout and standard is that the bridge is more widely spaced, correct? This tarp would work fine with a non-bridge hammock also, yes?
Really personal. I've used a DCF with doors that was 10' on an 11' hammock and was totally fine. I now have an 11' DCF with my 11' hammocks and it's also totally fine, just a tad more room (and...
Actually have done traded but couldn’t find a way to close and move this thread for some reason.
I wrote him via Facebook. MyersTech Hammock Lab. He responded ‘no problem’ and gave me color choices.
These seem to be exactly what I’m looking for. Looks like Jeff will be getting a message from me soon.
Got any other photos?
I’m not sure what you folks are doing with your hammocks that you’re so worried about durability. Even on a thru the amount of times one has resupplies mailed to oneself should the very unlikely...
Have you checked out SLD’s Streamliner? Had one in 1.0 Robic and was sub 8oz. Also, I’m similar in size to you and am ok in a 10’ hammock.
Honestly, I’d contact HG and ask them about this. As mentioned above, this isn’t the first incident.
No photos?
What does it weigh?
Preempting Dfurkiss
There's also the factor that was touched upon earlier in the thread that you're probably not going to die. You might be cold and you might not sleep, but you'll live most likely. HYOH.
I’m in for bundle 3 please.
Your listing is very confusing. Clarity on what you are selling and maybe a photo would be helpful.
To the top.
Another for the Stingerz route. So easy, light and simple. No thought required and can do with gloves.
