Welcome from Gloucester County!
The weekend forecast as of 6 hrs ago.....http://www.weathernj.com/jan-22-weekend-winter-storm-update/
Couldn't get the truckload of bad pallets that I had setup with my boss. His boss said NO at the last minute
 I'll be taking dirt roads from Batsto (permit) to Batona. I'll swing by...
Congrats! Hope you can pop in on Saturday. Who's gonna sing with SS now? :lol:101132
I will be arriving Friday early afternoon with one vehicle. You can add one to my reservation, just PM me the details.
Now that's a Piney fire!
Hee Hee
This is how Pineys do it. YEEHAW!!! :thumbup:100744
Got my pre-reg email today. I will be bringing as many pallets as I can fit in my Toyota short bed...assuming the rust can handle it.
Slow down when approaching the little bridges. Parts of Carranza Rd can be really bumpy. :scared:
Yep! All reserved.100372
I bought my 12 back in the spring. Had it once in the rain and had no leaks. :)
Welcome from Blackwood :)
You're right! I forgot about that. They need to update their website.
You should be able to check-in at the Atsion office. It's much closer to Batona. They're open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. :)
Great pics! It was great to get out to the pines and visit you guys on such a starry night. My friend Tom is still wondering how you can stay warm in a hammock, lol. Got home around 9 PM to cloudy...
That sucks. No more hanky panky! The trail behind the site is now blocked off with a wooden gate. 98458
Here's group site E. I took a ride to Bodine after the Father's Day Hang and the trees are cut back more than this pic shows.98456
Not really. There may be a few trees near the campsite limit sign but the site is pretty much for tents.
I did most of my winter camping at Bodine. Went the 2nd weekend in March for about 10 years. We always chose the large corner site by the river all the way in the back. That site is now Group E....
Yes, Bodine is up and taking reservations. :)
So all those sounds I heard weren't Whip-poor-wills?
Speaking of the AC 5-0, there are hidden cameras all around Batona Camp & Carranza Memorial. That's why the park police showed up so quickly over the bottle incident.
I wonder if whoopie sling shoelaces would work
Physical Therapy on my wrist starts Tues and if all goes well I can make this one. I can't even tie my shoes right now, so knots are out and Camp Nano 23's are on their way! :)
Great pics! That's a lot of ribs. :boggle:
Dang! Sounds yummy. I wanted to hike in for a little visit late Friday afternoon but I had surgery on my wrist on Wednesday afternoon. Didn't think it was a good idea to mix Percocets and hiking in...
Sounds like cousin Bob is constipated. Must've been eating scraps from Mullica Camp.
Hey Tree Frog, meet your new relatives!
Thanks Tree Frog! Yes, lucky for me I'm right handed but it's still tough doing simple things like showering and getting dressed for work. Hopefully the cast will come off the 2nd week of Dec...I've...
Y'all have fun in the cold piney woods! :)
Got big fluffy flakes coming down now in Gloucester County.
Dang...I'd love to go but can't make this one. Broke my left wrist on Nov 1 and in a cast up past the elbow. Gotta let this thing heal right for the winter hang. Double dang.....just got another...
Don't forget to stoke your inner fire...http://www.outdoorlife.com/node/1005004910
I have no desire to speak with ReserveAmerica and probably being charged for the phone call.
Botto's Italian Sausage (slightly overdone) on a Del Buono's roll.....Mmm Mmm Good! :)
Eight sites reserved...five to go! Botto's Sausage......Mmmmmm! :)96802
Just reserved site B005/Batona for 2/2/2. :) Let's all pray for a snowy forecast for the trip!:scared: Did the water pump freeze up on the last winter hang?
Welcome from Wash Twp, Gloucester County :)
Me Three! :)
VineyGirl...check your PM's from me! :)
Yes! We can hang the bear bag off the cable with rope & carabiner. Don't need a hungry bear after the Packit Gourmet!
The cabin is 7' x 7', so that's a diagonal of 9' 9" and gets a little longer as you work your way down. I think it's doable. :lol:94294
Yeah, that window pane divider kinda takes away a little of the awesomeness. Been thinking if it's possible to hang a hammock on the tower somewhere above the treeline.
I've been in the cabin a few times. The fire observers usually welcome the company. :)
Here are views from inside the cabin atop Apple Pie Mountain. http://www.360cities.net/image/apple-pie-hill-fire-tower?utm_source=google_earth&utm_medium=all_images#0.00,0.00,70.0
Welcome from South Jersey! Personally, I would get the pull outs. You will be surprised at how much more room you will have under your tarp. If you haven't already, check out Shug's videos...
