Welcome are y'all hanging yet? or doing some research?
Welcome to the forum
Make your own woopies it's too easy, all you need is thin wire, some dynamo cord and needle and thread. Or I'd get one from a reputable vender not eBay.
Welcome, love it down there.
I'm in the springs, email me for a group hang, you'll definitely want to look into quilts though.
Welcome, I'm also in the springs, interested in doing a winter hang? I'm off until January.
I'm living in an containerized housing unit (CHU), it's basically a dressed up shipping container. I'll be here for a long time, so how can I mount a hammock?
Interior is all thin sheet metal,...
Received my stand today, looks very nice I'll try and pick up some conduit tomorrow. The stand kit has rubber boots, and end plugs for the conduit, I ordered the stand with both sets. I'll probably...
2nds if the deal falls through
Cool inside is probably where I would use it most, im about to move but site selection is difficult in Arizona there aren't really anything I would call trees.
There is a one or the other or both option, why conduit over wood?
Lighter, smaller? I figured with 2x2" square I could always hammer form a pipe into a square if needed, and any small 2-4" trees...
Ordered a set with both pole types, if it works out I could be in for a 2nd set wanna try it out first.
It does, they make a solo, solo plus (which I have) and a double, it has 3-4' tall bathtub sides, it has 4 corner pullouts plus two on the long sides, i'm just curious mainly about utilizing the...
I have a Zpacks cuben fiber ground sheet it's made like a bucket with timeouts that can be pulled up and connected to a tarp. It's big enough for two but defiantly not made for my superfly. I've...
Digging mine as well, I just got in a set of poles from dutch that really open it up inside.

All welcome, i'll be hanging with two others, planning to fish a bit and just relax.
Any chance of a group hang before the rains?

How long are a pair of whoopies good for? should they ever be replaced? My Whoopies are relatively new but I'm noticing some curious stuff where the burry come out, the weave of the rope isn't woven...
I'm looking for details on this a well, I've had my whoops directly attached to my HH and have been using a small continuous look on the ends of my tree straps to connected to the whoopies to the...
I will take the stove per messages, thanks!
I really like that permanently attached concept, but I went to dutch fleas on the tarp, and the guyline attached to the stakes only, because I kept have severely tangled guy lien sin a bishop bag.

It's funny that you say that because I went camping again this weekend, and did a test sit on those same ropes after hanging everything but before replacing them; the other knot failed too.
I...
What are the advantages and disadvantages of a continuous ridging v/s the set-up mentioned in this thread with two separate RL tie-outs? I liked the continuous and went with it but haven't tried...
Well since I do check my gear and since I did sit down before hopping in the sack and did sleep in it for about 5 hours before the knot slipped lose I would disagree with you on human error it just...
The one of the left is the same knot that slipped, the one of the right is how I retied it to get back in the air. I have some 7/64th am steel to replace them with, I was trying to save grams once...
I was so tired and peeved that I went back to sleep were I landed but the thud woke up my wife and she came to check on me. We stoked the fire a bit and I retied the knot with a double fisherman's...
My third time using the current suspension set-up; HH Hyperlite, with DIY whoops attached, dutch hooked to DIY tree straps by a thin amsteel loop.
The knot in the loop was something I got from...
I haven't noticed the problems mentioned above, my SF has shock cord on every tie out and it makes tensioning super easy, haven't tried it with CF though.
Im using the perm attached tie outs with 12/24" loop of shock cord, and a continuous ridgeline with one hook end and one tarp fly as mentioned above, and have had some tangling issues in the bishop...
I picked up some CF poles from Zpacks I think it was to do a treeless set-up since I haven't felt the need for walking sticks just yet. My superbly is great and big, i've slept 4 people under a USGI...
Sorry i just saw your reply the solo stove set is sold, didn't have a solo pot. I still have a tested not used msr whisper lite to get rid of though. PM me so i don't miss the post or junk his...
I'm curious why the fisherman's knots as opposed to making a continuous loop on the descending ring? I assume the knots are bombproof compared to a short burry?
I have them but have only sued them once, not that hard to loop it and save some weight plus mine straps are DIY and the clips don't always stay on them in my pack.
2010 to present
I'm also using a continuous ridgeline with double ended stuff sack on a superbly. It's a pain to pack up IMO my bag may be a tiny bit small, but then again it can be squished smaller. I haven't...
I just picked up a Ridgerest SOLlite in small $19.99 at REI. A lot f people seem to like them and after getting hand son in the store feel it's enough to keep my core insulated in a hammock.
I'm not sure I would have the courage, mine was expensive.
Welcome from AZ
Welcome 'm a big reader too.
I went to an REI outlet for the first time a few days ago, I was in there for like 3 hours. Left with a bunch of mountain house and a solar panel.
Anyone doing any hanging for memorial day weekend?
Welcome Eemeli!
I'm looking for a super packable light hammock similar to a ENO Sub 7. Looking for something I can easily pack on deployments straps and hardware is available there but hammocks not so much. I'm...
I have a solo stove (the smaller version) brand new, I would sell or trade. Just decided it wasn't for me after I got it, i'm not big on wood soot.
Ordered some cord to convert my tarp to this method i fought line locks for longer than im willing to admit the other night.
I'm interested in both jackets whats your best price shipped to 37042?
Superfly ordered, I found a thread that sold me on it, just over 1lb isn't that bad for what it is capable of providing and the weight i'm used to. I should easily be able to keep a overnight pack...
