wow yeah, Hikingboots. Definitely the places. What a great area.
A couple of friends and I hopped a plane from Nashville to Vegas, commandeered a rental car and drove to the Eastern High Sierra for 5 days of backpacking. Being from the south and hiking in the...
Very cool, Smurfs
Land Between the Lakes also has a ton of gravel roads and dirt roads that go on seemingly forever with lots of really old cemeteries back in there.
wow, that had to be intense.
Yes. I saw several places to stealth camp with a hammock. Also, the official campground site about 4-5 miles in has a ton spots that would be great for hanging. Hope that helps.
No hammocking... Just little day trip (8 Miles) on this little trail of brutality... Enjoy!

Yeah think I'm gonna wait for slightly better weather. Hope to meet yall up there one day. Been interested in hiking that area, would be nice to go with some people that know it pretty well.
No that was my first setup right out of the box. I got in it and it held fine. They are 4X4 and probably, 2 foot deep, in concrete and I am pretty sure I could sleep there. Since I've actually taken...
Yeah I have this problem too. It difficult to get to the categories for the forum. I usually just click a topic then navigate to the categories from there. Would be so much better if it would list...
thinking about it but its a little bit of a cruise up there for me. About 4 hours each way... Wanted to go on that last one but the date wasn't good, had to work that weekend...
what's hammock modeling usually pay per gig, Dutch?
Looks like a fun time. Those Sheltowee rigs looked real comfy.
Tennessee in the house. Hi, From right outside Nashville!
Zing-It works great. I just have zing-it and 2 stingerz for the suspension, super easy to adjust. Then 4 zing-it tie outs with linelocs on them.

thanks! I like that pack a lot. fits me really well and is pretty light too...
I just went to the mailbox and blam! Bling in the box! Peace Dutch!
There's tie out on both sides.
It's my first hammock so can't compare it to anything else. It's super comfy, though. A lot more than my tent haha!
Here's a few of my DB with single layer HyperD 1.6 in Black with a black tarp. No quilts on it yet.

Nevermind! it would help if I hit the 'save' button! lol
**RESOLVED** Once you upload them, they show as pending. Do they have to be approved by a mod? Just curious if I am doing something wrong and they just won't add to the album.
thanks
that's really nice. I love the little pull handle for adjustment once inside and the gun bag is nice too.
Very true. They are all made to order all of them are different. A hammock custom shop if you will. Personally I love that my dream hammock is a one of a kind. Keep on keeping on Smurfs!
Which model is this?
Just placed an order for my first UQ. Waiting begins...tick tock tick tock...
I can't do this weekend but I was thinking of heading to Sipsey on Tuesday for a night or two.
Hey Paul,
How long is that sale going on?
Keeping it real! Love it...
lol is that a real thing? haha
Cool thanks, blanedmiles! And thanks for the heads up on the bear cans. We were all going to rent those but I didn't know they did it at the ranger station. Plus that is way cheaper!
Yeah I had a home made one, I was just looking for something a little more sturdy and thought that one may work. I figured it was a bit short. that stove sits pretty high on the canister.
Anyone know if that windscreen will work with an MSR Pocket Rocket stove or is it too short? I assume it does not because I can't find any info where someone is using these two pieces of gear...
those are excellent tents.
lol Kentucky Igloo... what a setup!
those look awesome!
I was in the same boat recently. Ended up buying Wilderness Logics tadpole. Love it. Plenty of coverage, lightweight and was under $100.
Lucky to be so close! We are planning for 1st week of September 2015.
Just gorgeous! That is why we are going there.
we have a local REI store where we live and I was going to check with them as well. Its their smallest store in their chain (nashville) and some things they don't offer there. We may be able to rent...
next to just running around naked in the woods, it doesn't get anymore ultralight than that! Classic
I've done the Big Creek Gulf trail. Its pretty rocky. Its not bad once you get to the bottom but the climb in and out is semi rough.
very cool!
Hey thanks for the info. We are driving in from Vegas and Bishop looks really out of the way for an Onion Valley start. Lower Gear might be our best bet.
Obviously the word is out in the SCOUT community. lol
love that yellow overcover!
great idea, Shug!
Finally got my entire rig up and rain tested it in the back yard.
