Food is serious business, don't be joking about food, man...
If nominated I will not run, if elected I will not...whoa am I kidding? I own this place!
Yea, that's not coffee...
Updated site assignments.
Pretty self explanatory; but if you have questions send me a PM.
Yep, great starter gear; I've been using my starter hammock for 6 years now! :shades:
Nothing wrong with that tarp, not my color, but hey, not everyone has my taste.
Each system takes as long as it takes; that;s just the way it is. However, if it takes you 30 minutes to set up a hammock you are doing it wrong!
I don't fiddle with my field kit while in the...
How about, "It isn't as fun if you can remember it!"?
A little glitchy out of the gate, but I'll get the hang of it.
Here is what the site assignment is going to look like. I don't need to know every person in your site, just the name of the primary (your screen name) and, if you want, how many will be in the site....
Once you have paid OldGringo send me a PM with your site selection so I can get you on the map.
The Rat Mischief is in!
Stop looking for reservations, they are gone, we are attempting to streamline the process a little; wait for the FAQ post all will be revealed.
They are several primitive camps among the Goodwater Trail; this is where I usually hang. Of course, there is always stealth camping as well and they are many good spots for this along the loop.
For me stretch makes me uncomfortable in my shoulders. Granted, my shoulders, as well as the rest of my body, has seen some pretty serious abuse.
What happens is through out the night the nylon...
I don't go to State Parks unless it's with a hammock hang. At least at a hang if my stuff goes missing there is something left to replace it! J/K that's only happened once...
Don't camp where you...
I think this is it largely; old timers get tired of seeing the same question posted nine thousand times when a simple search would give the answer. Or seeing the same image from facebook posted three...
You're way over thinking this (don't worry happens a lot over here). Think of an underquilt and a top quilt like a two part sleeping bag; let's call this the base line.
A 40° underquilt and 40°...
It was perfect, cold at night shorts during the day!
Oh yea, we had hammocks there too!
Saturday nights are made for campfires and FOOD!
What happens when you throw the dog toy into the tree top?
We had a full cast of the usual suspects, even though it was weird for me to go without my beautiful wife and loving son. They had to stay home due to being so sick they could barely walk.
I'm uploading the images now, gonna be a little bit before I can post 'em.
I had a great time, as usual, with my fellow hammockers. And McKinney Falls is a great park, if you can ignore the...
Same with me, I'm willing to share. Looks like it's just going to be me from my family, everyone else is sick.
Once again proving you can find ANYTHING on Youtube.
If you need some new stimuli don't miss the McKinney Falls hang; the forum is great but the hangs are bee's knees!
And welcome from big ol' Bertram!
We can stay at my house, watch the big tv, sit on a nice couch; and then head over to MFSP each the morning.
Never trust a skinny cook! Draw your own inference...! :shades:
Yep, great crappie lake, and white bass too. Crossbow are allowed only if you can't medically shot a regular bow. They are allowed on the wma, but not at our hunt.
I make gasless beans, really. [emoji1] However, if you are a fan of the harmony I can make them the traditional way!
Plenty of bangs! Last year we lost a prop completely, broke one off at the hub, trashed a lower unit and put a hole in one boat! Plenty of bangs to go around.
Here's a shot of me and the crew...
Uncle Mike, if you do cornbread I'll do pinto beans; beans and cornbread baby (and rice, yea)!
It's that time of the year again. The 15th annual Granger Ranger Xtreme Hunt.
This is an extreme hunt, that means no food is allowed. Archery gear for hunting wild pigs and small game only....
7 minutes, they lasted a whole 7 minutes!
They may sell firewood most State Parks do. Save your money; I plan on bringing wood from home and I can bring enough for two almost as easy.
Nice! I also like the logo, I would definitely sport a tee-shirt or a sticker on my laptop/truck.
Tarpless is best for me, but a high tarp is my style when its up. Even when it's raining I'll try to use something like a modified Baker's hut or a stick/pole for a a rain peak. That's why I love the...
The footbox on the Owyhee is a draw string closure (at the very bottom) and Omnitape up to the knee. It is not narrow at all on my size 10 feet, plenty of room.
If I were going to buy a new machine; it would be an old one.
Read Ramblinrev's articles and then check out the Show us Your Thread Injector thread for some beautiful machines.
But I'll let Roz know. :shades:
The Rat Mischief is in! Reservations are made. Roz and Gage have a late Friday appointment so they may not make it until Saturday; and not then if it is really cold.
But I will be there, no...
Enough food to make and share in camp, baked sweets are always a hit.
Money to buy gear.
Gear to trade for other gear.
A skill to teach others.
Plenty of stories.
My New River and Owayhee are my favorite pieces of gear right now; but they are also my newest! I find that my favorite piece of gear lasts until I buy a new piece of gear!
I have the regular New River but in 10° and I do like 2ply does with the shock cord over the ridge line.
Me and 'Possum hit 17° and 19° on consecutive nights on weekend. I was using an 11' DIY gathered end hammock, my SPE with 3/8" CCF and an extra CCF pad on top of that. For the top I used a 50/50...
Don't you mean re-tire?
On the plus side, if you add a small winch you can hurl large rocks to repel invading ground dwellers!
Welcome from Bertram! The more the merrier!
I'm lazy and that's just where it kinda ends up. As long as it keeps the wind and rain off of me I'm good.
That is a great machine! I have the exact same model but in tan color. So smooth! I converted Judith to a foot pedal though; I never could get used to the sideways knee thing.
