Two great hobbies. Maybe we will QSO sometime hammock-to-hammock, if I ever get back out into my hammock. My 817 and end fed wire would work great from the hammock.

I have been following the Sherpa Hang thread, but we will not be able to visit on Friday. I look forward to some good pics and vids uploaded after the hang.
Hmmm. I might bring the wife on Friday for a bit, since they will not be in until Saturday AM. Just a day trip to check it out. We will not be able to stay overnight. How early on Friday will people...
Thanks Chris for the invite, but that is the weekend that they will be here. One brother likes to camp, but that's it. So, there wouldn't be any interest on their part to come along.
I will read...
Mainly from the car, but that is not written in stone.
Unfortunately, this hang is out, as I'll have family flying in to escape the cold for a bit.
I haven't even used my Hennessy's for a few...
^LOL! [emoji23]
I was interested in the federal lands for two major reasons:
1-I've hung in another national forest with the hammock with no problems.
2-I have a Golden Access Passport which gives me a...
I am considering a drive to Ocala Natl Forest and checking out the camping options there, as I am new to Florida. Does anyone have any advice on which campgrounds are ideal for car camping with the...
I've stayed in the Red River Gorge. There is a campground, Koomer Ridge, that I've hung in if you want to car camp. Very private sites for a campground.
I know there have been group hangs out in...
I have the Amazon-sold Vivere Double Hammock that I bought to use inside. (...
"Liquid apple pie." Love it.
Is this North of Orlando? I am new to Florida and I need a new car hanging campground.
If you ordered your whoopsies from whoopiesljngs.com, then look at their single line tarp ridgeline, which uses a knotbone on one end and figure 9 on the other. I have two of them, one on my HH Hex,...
I recall seeing something about using the campfire ashes to clean your dishes and have done that a few times. I can see how you can use the same method for your hands.
I think my G'friend is starting to catch on. The pic says it all.59650
I too have the HH Hex and I got the Single Line Tarp Ridge Line from whoopieslings.com. No regrets!
Just my recommendation.
^^^^^^ On for last two posts. Auxier Ridge area is where I've spent most of my time hiking. Nice loops for day hikes.
I've yet to camp in the gorge, though. I usually stay in Koomer Ridge...
I too made a PLUQ as a test for making one for outdoor use and I use it on my indoor hammock. The loft in it was real poor, so it worked great for indoor use.
What are some of the methods being used tie the tarp ridgelines on the stands?
I'm in, too.
Tnx. It will be for outdoor use, so I'm thinking I will keep the tripod legs a little longer for a wider stance and longer horizontal support.
OK, I have been reading through the thread and it is long! I have not found the answer, so I will ask it:
Has anyone determined any minimum/maximum ranges on any parts of the stand?
I have a...

Done!
Setup, dinner followed immediately by rain. Nap time, re-stoke the fire and watch it burn. Nite-nite with some more rain, but dry as a bone. (First time using the Hennessy Hex.)
A.M....
Oh, I'm going. My only reluctance is 14+ hours I worked at the rained out NASCAR race yesterday. I'm beat.
All the more reason to go!!!
I am considering heading to Red River Gorge to my favorite campground this afternoon. We have 40-50% chances of isolated and scattered t-storms today/tonight/tomorrow. But, the cool WX is an...
I received mine in the mail yesterday and immediately hung my hammock in the garage to put them on. Very nice. I am pleased with the item and a very accommodating person to deal with.
I had a similar issue with an SE call, W4K, one year. I won't do it again.
Good luck

Not a full-time hanger, but I have the exact same setup you have. Consider keeping it and just changing the hammock to something different. I used the stand last week in my backyard with my Hennessy...
Welcome.

The comforter is covering the horizontal beam, in case the setup failed.
Wait, I think I read your question wrong: The stand is one piece, I believe like a Vario stand. It is free standing and quite stable.
The end posts only.
This is my indoor stand and it was the right length for my HH. The rain fly was just a bit long, but I made it work.
I was playing with a way to hang in the backyard. It seemed to work.
Curiously awaiting a KY response. I do know the manager at at one park (Fort Boonesborough) told me it was OK.
Does the AFLAC duck hang?
I have two snugpak sleeping bags. They compress down very well and I've never been cold in them.
^What they said!
HR, if you see a big white Ky state truck that says safe patrol, honk and wave!
We were only hiking in for a quick day trip but looks like we are going to pass. Maybe again this year.
Where's the like button? Oh, this isn't Facebook!
Nice story.
Keep in mind the hang in Red River Gorge March 22-24. WX permitting, even consider coming out for a day hike and check out some other gear setups.
Welcome from Lex. You made a good choice!
I got mine today:

What diameter pole works best? I recall she sells different ones.
...Should be "I made it halfway up the staircase." Fat-fingering the iPhone keyboard.
I was checking out the area today. Why not: WX was great!
Inside it halfway up the staircase and decided I wanted to find the other way in! We went to Princess Arch and that's the way I'm coming...
I bought a moisture absorber at a gun store to put in my gun safe. When the color changes, it needs to be recharged. You do this by placing it in the oven for a time (instructions included.)
Just...
Good luck.
There is also a good Forest Service campground if you want to car camp and not do the primitive. It is called Koomer Ridge. My favorite! Lots of trees and many of the sites are somewhat...
Mine was mailed yesterday!
Silent, there is no additional charge for the customization. She was very nice and accommodating.
