Hey Mac
Good to hear you are still making the good stuff for specialized use. Maybe we can get together again in the gorge and catch up sometime

Hey Mac

Looks like another good time, put me on the list.
I can't edit the spreadsheet, so add me for the other half of Dogger's pizza
Looked like a perfect start to the winter camping season
Thanks for sharing the adventure
Sad news for sure.
Remembering all of the good times we had , places we camped, sunrises and sunsets.
He will be missed by many.
Praying for his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Back in the day ideas were coming so fast and evolving to the next level quickly.
Good times for sure.
Great thread Tim
Great adventure Carver
Keep showing us how to stay feeling young
Yup, I've been here a bit also. Lurked for over 2 years before I joined.
Its good to see some of the old guard still active
Great report.
There are many out of the way, and hard to find, places to see in the gorge.
Glad you enjoyed the loop
Great to see this old thread again. Cold weather camping can be very serious business if you are not prepared, and have a plan "B"
Sad news for sure. I have had the pleasure of hiking with Rain Man and his daughter.
He will be missed by many
Prayers for all who loved him
Glad you're first outing can be called a success. It really is a game changer.
And Dogger won, clean setup;)
Pics, we want pics:D:D:lol:
Recon, Heck, you should start hauling wood in from the far reaches of the forest in preparation for the hang.
Just haul, and stand the logs up near the fire area :lol:
http://www.linvillegorge.net/ is the source for all things gorge. And the Avenza map app with the maps from LVG.net
The sandy ground around there is usually only partially froze, if snow cover is low use stakes. If the snow is deep deadman log type anchors, packed in the snow is the way to go
Another try out type VB are Christmas tree disposal bags. Now is the season to find them also.
They are long enough to cover you to your neck........ don't let the kids use them.
No trailer, Anne is staying home, just the hot tent.
We were near Petosky 3 weeks ago, will let you know next time for a looksee. they really are a nice small trailer
Well I updated the sign up sheet quite a while back but never posted here.
I'll be there, looking forward to a weekend+ in the woods.
I've decided to sell a couple of things I have not used in...
Great report Dave
Thanks for sharing the adventure
Great to see you enjoying the season
And waiting to see your new bike. That will certainly get some of us inspired to catch up and get outside more ;)
Is hunting stil allowed in the forest lands?
if so take your camera and hunt wildlife, next to, not on the trail
Glad to see you out and enjoying the woods. Great video, love the cooking, and love the bacon weave.
I've done a few, but never pictured it, mine were not quite as tight but tasted fabulous
Another great time in the outdoors.
Great friends, good food and colorful stories.
Next years dates are noted on the schedule
HERE IS THE SPREADSHEET

The small text and blending color is hard for us "old folks" to find
It's on the calendar
It was another great weekend.......... plus a few more days in Northern Michigan
Looking forward to doing more in the outdoors
Thanks for a great time

YOU GOT A HOT TENT????
When they know you are seriously looking they sometimes find a way to keep the good ones
I hope it works out well. And very glad you get to go to Green Timbers again this year
If I am out more than 3 nights at below 0f temps, without the hot tent to dry gear, I always use a VB inside my quilts.
The moisture content of the down goes up each night, and the insulative...
Welcome to the forum Riverine45
Looks like the weather is going to be more mild for this hand, but be prepared for most anything.
Looking forward to meeting you there

I'm sure you can build one.
Maybe post a build thread of the process. Call if you have questions about the pattern or the process
It was a great time
Thanks to all for the prep work and organization

Just got back from from Linville Gorge tonight.

Looking forward to visiting with old friends and...
Normally Friday-Sunday, but when I go I plan on being there Wednesday at noon and usually leave Sunday about noon
