I survived the Punxsutawney Groundhog 50K! WooHoo! An amazing trail race with wonderful support. I have nothing but good stuff to say about this event and the people I met.
I had a tough time the...

With Spring making it's debut, I'm starting to get amped up for the MAHHA. It's been a few months since I've gotten some hammock time! Life goes fast at times. Need the MAHHA weekend to relax and...
check out the quilt hooks by Dutch.

videos at the bottom of the page. Dutch makes high quality, well tested stuff.
take a look around the forums. Read, absorb, ask a little more specific questions if need be. Check out the video section. There's a few great "how to for noobs" videos in there.

First... relax. You can "what if" yourself too much.
A quick fix could be using a rain jacket or poncho to cover the area from the outside, as you'll need to cover over the hole, until the...
For me it's below 30F, using a 20F bag with closed footbox.
on the ground beside my hammock. My feet smell bad enough. I've never considered something taking off with my shoes.
I guess you could clip a biner to them and onto your suspension.
Don't need another pack. That's why I'm giving this one away. I've already promised it. Come to the MAHHA and take your chances at the raffle. :)
Come to the Spring MAHHA. I'm putting one in the raffle.
I see ORANGE!! Ha! Looks great, and useful. You need a better looking model though.
;-)
'tis a sweet setup indeed!
I'm looking for one of the z rest, fold up, egg crate looking pads in ORANGE. They only come in brown, limon, or silver any more. I'm partial to orange.
Thanks!
Thanks for your efforts in putting this together.

Happy Birthday, be it belated or early. :D
After missing the last Spring and Fall MAHHA, I've finally worked things out at home and work and officially have this on my calendar! See ya' there!!!
On another note; I've a bunch of gear...
anything that has the word "Dutch" with it. IE Dutchclip, Dutchbiner,,,
Pics! or it didn't happen! :D
I agree with Cranky Bear. A bridge hammock would most assuredly solve your problems. Pitch the foot end slightly higher, add a nice light weight pillow, and you're good to go!

August would be nice. Pick some dates and lets see where that takes this.
I've run a 50K on this trail in 2009 and have long desired to go back and hike it.
I'm betting any time during the Spring/Summer/Fall would be great.
Put me down as tentative, with a strong...
The Yeti and Phoenix are down filled.
The Jarbridge is synthetic filled.
The difference is in packed size, with synthetic being slightly larger.
The Jarbridge is rated to 30*. The Yeti and...
Quality products from a quality guy! It's only the begining my friend.
Peace!
Interesting design indeed. This would be fun to make. Not sure how much I'd use it, but I just might make one for the pleasure of making one!
My Sniveler is my favorite piece of gear. Comfy, light, versatile. Not surprising it made this list.
Congrats to the Jacks! Outstanding!!
Awesome!
After a day of hiking I usually smell to bad to attract something nice like that.
Great how outdoortrailgear has expanded. So much useful, innovative gear sold by most excellent folks!
The ebay tarp seems kind of small for a hammock tarp.
Arrowhead and Warbonnet have nice sized tarps for around $100.
You may pick up something cheaper, but it will more than likely be...
It is amazing what quaility FP down can do to reduce the size of a quilt/sleeping bag!
Excellent choice.
It's a rather easy section to hike, with a big climb at high rocks just before Raven Rock shelter in MD. The AT in MD is a State Park and requires you to camp/hang at the shelters. Raven Rock is...
I've run/hiked with Gator Bait Gaiters since '06. A few folks have seen them and thought they were Dirty Girl made. I guess they are similar.
It's the idea / concept behind the gaiter that I...
I treated my hammock with Permethrin - picked up at Walmart. I have never been bit while in my hammock.

I'm on my second pair of these gaiters, and just can't say enough good about them. So I made this video to share.

Had one as a ground dweller. Would be hard to get into while in a hammock. You'd have to step into it, then get in the hammock. They work well as an insulation layer, and helps extend the life of...

The items Dutch makes were invented for a reason. Use them with confidence and enjoy!
tttrailgear.com just listed a new diamond tarp they are offering.
I can't think of a "one set up 4 season" quilt combo. A winter yeti will be WAY too much in the summer.
I have a 20 deg TQ/UQ and a 50 deg TQ/UQ that gets me through 4 seasons fairly well.

tttrailgear.com sells IX (insultex) TQ and UQ's.
Arrowhead Equip. makes excellent Climashield quilts.
I've had my cuben tarp for 1 1/2 years now, and taken it out many times. MountainGoat, www.outdoortrailgear.com made a set of mesh skins that fit it perfectly. No issues. Great set of skins!!

I like the diamond tarp! Saving up for it.... :-)
Jacks r better sells top quilts and top quilt wings to extend the width a bit. They even have double sized quilts, very large that would definitely fit you!

Most of my prusiks are 3-4" in length, tied with a simple square not.
A pad would work, if you don't move around a lot. There's not a lot of room in the middle area to keep a pad in place as this is a somewhat shallow hammock. Pads work, but there's a reason UQ's...
