That's correct. the working end of your rope is always the loose end, the secured end in this case is already affixed to your stake. My picture is a little confusing to be honest because it blends...
I love my hook worms, I rarely take out more than one tarp, so just having the little piece of shock cord on the tarp, then the hook worms in my organizer is really awesome and a time saver on the...
One thing I forgot to mention as well.
My 11.5' had a bad calf ridge that I would have to figure four to get rid of, or cold air would cause some major CBS. With this, it seems I have to...
Yes, check out the post I just made in the picture thread, right here: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/134611-Chameleons-in-the-Wild-The-Picture-Thread?p=1764342#post1764342

Mine arrived last week, in a very nice set of organized pieces.

It has yet to be released upon the wild, but it did get to roam in my Basement for a little bit. where I set the hammock,...
Are you sure you want to share an image with your real name?
yeah, I actually expect that I will only be using the peak lofts. I travel very light and think all my rarely accessed stuff can go in the foot end and my book and other stuff I want while laying...
Backer #6X
Just got shipping confirmation that it will ship tomorrow and a tracking code.
I ordered Wide Complete, With two peak lofts, a storage pouch, and a tarp, so anyone around my number...
Thanks, that's on my list to get someday.
Are the gear lofts large enough for an Empty backpack? by the time I get camp set up, I have almost nothing in my pack, so I'm wondering if I can just toss it in the foot end gear box without...
Yeah, where as I'm wide, with a tarp, and they didn't have many wides made.
I'm not worried, I'm just learning patience.
On the other upside, I ordered a new gigabit switch and network cables...
This is exactly what I figured was going on.
On the bright side, if my weekend trip gets canceled and pushed back again (already happened twice, we are planning this weekend now) the I might...
Wouldn't help much, they have to, by nature, jump around a little bit. Someone who is #7X got theirs, while I'm #6X and haven't received a tracking code on the website.
Patience too is part of the...
:lol:ooh, good tactic, I wish I had thought of it first!
I really have to keep things in perspective. I'm used to Dutch's super fast shipping times, and Amazon's free two day shipping, and compared to that, the wait feels long ans slow.
But compared to...
My mistake. The way some of them popped in without any warning, and right as you moved, it made it look like you were trying to hide something, lol.
It's a nice overview, btw.
Why are you applying an artificial blur to the video? It is very annoying.
I completely understand all this Dutch. Might I suggest you also post a detailed update like this (maybe even just C&P it) as a kickstarter update? Many there won't know to look here and they...
I might get some for indoor hanging.
Is that wide or standard?
thanks
ooh, I might get mine soon then!
I'm a lower number than you and I got the complete Wide, two peak shelves, 1 organizer, and a tarp!
What all did you order?
If you got just the body that is easier to ship than someone who got the complete or got extras (or both).
Hey Dutch! Thanks for the great little tutorial!
Thank you. I had the very same pet peeve, but I was holding my tongue.
Thanks for the detailed reply!
Could you expand on that? How tall are you? Is the amount of fabric the issue? I got a wide so I'll get to try it eventually, but I'm curious.
Very nice, BrockLeigh, is that the wide?
Thanks for the warning.
I'm a little jelly, what backer number, and which kit did you get? I'm an early backer, haven't gotten my tracking number, but I got the complete, and a tarp, and didn't...
I got the complete, Wide, and the Tarp. the colors I chose were Hunter Green Hammock, Dark Olive Top cover, and Moss Green Tarp
One is not prime.
That said, backer number 60-something checking in. I didn't reply until a few days ago because I was waiting for the wide body unlock. I did reply soon as Wide was unlocked. ...
Thanks!

While this link doesn't have wide, it has every color but Hunter Green.
Yeah, I did that too, but there were enough shades labeled as "Hunter Green" that I felt better asking from the source.
Personally, I agree, but as some people take offense to gender-conjugated terms, so a gender neutral alternative that already exists is handy to know.
Sounds great Dutch, Congrats again on a successful campaign.
Seamster is the correct term, is neutral, and has been in use since before 1,100 CE. No reason to reinvent a word that works just fine.
Any pictures of the Hunter Green? I'm strongly considering (and actually sent a message indicating as such since I'm in the first 100) for a hunter green wide and olive top, with the hopes that...
I might be interested as well.
Dutch, I have a tarp with doors and was all set to get a lightweight tarp for good weather. I was planning on the xenon wide asym tarp you have, But I'm on the kickstarter so the discounted hex...
I will say this: While my wife and I sleep in separate hammocks when we go camping, my friend and his wife sleep together in one standard, homemade, gathered end hammock.
It's possible, just...
My wife sleeps 9 or so hours in bed and doesn't feel that well rested. her first night in a hammock she slept 6 hours and felt better than she ever had.
If you are sleeping and feeling rested,...
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
Thanks for your input Blizz. How much off-center do you lie? and how to you lie in general?
I'm 6'1" but curious if I would benefit the same since I purposely only go slightly off center and...
Thank you both for your quick input. I guessed that might be the case, but I don't like making assumptions.
Jason, as a side point, can you describe the difference the foot extra width makes to...
I sleep in a standard width 11.5', I'm backing Dutch's Kickstarter and it's looking like the wide option is going to happen. I've never had one of his wide hammocks so I'm not sure if I want one or...
I'm thinking that getting a few of those and/or fleece blankets and then do that simple fabric clip option that others mentioned is probably the best option
How big are the trees in your area?
Here in the PCNW, we need LARGE tree straps.
While others can use 12' for pure webbing suspension and hang from 3-6" diameter trees, I often end up...
Congrats Dutch!
hhmmm... i wish I could try before buying. I'm open to the idea, but don't want to waste money.
