Ever finish the hike? Me and my friend gave it a shot during the 70 degree weekend this January. The Backpacker GPS points/directions certainly weren't perfect, but we only managed to get off trail...
I sure hope so, I would have guessed this would have been closer to the $200 range.
Eno breaks the ice with the first "mainstream" down underquilt.

Right off the bat, it looks incredibly...

Welcome from Asheville
What a neat bag!
Stakes and guy-lines (Zing-it, Mason-line, etc.)
Looks like it would make a great winter tarp! Bump
This is brilliant!
Maybe I'm biased because I'm from Asheville, but I love ENOs. I still don't understand how they haven't made improvements in their straps, underquilts, etc. tho
My rain-jacket weights 10oz at the moment, so I'm finding this pretty enticing. Even if I don't use it as my primary tarp, it would be great for eating lunch under during a rainstorm, or maybe as an...
I'd be worried about ripping this tarp while using it as a poncho
I was sure there was no way this would provide enough coverage! Looks like I'm dropping some cash.....*sigh*
I've got the same pillows as you, so I'd love to hear how it works out
I got 5 pillows, do you guys think this is enough for a winter TQ/UQ combo?
+1 on Arrowhead Equip.
Second if it doesnt work out with 13pt buck! PM sent!
Normally I would agree with you, but the Burner community is usually far more honest than that of your average festival. I just got back from Bonnaroo and saw some pretty creative uses of PVC pipe...
Either way, you would probably be better off with a lighter, army poncho-liner..which would get you down to the same temperature, with less weight
The product may be much lower than this (coming from a seller on Amazon)...often times this includes the weight of the packaging, warranty sheet, etc.
If it's been mailed it's DEF not a crime....so let's just assume that all of these have been mailed
Hahahahahaha, but I can only afford one!
btw, The Yeti I was referring to was the 0-degree
An EPIC mythological battle!
But seriously.....I'm saving up for a winter UQ and I can't decide between the two.
Both are very similar in price:
Yeti: $215 vs. Phoenix: $219
Greeting neighbor! I'm another hanger from Asheville (enjoying the rainy morning?)
Where on the whoopies are you attaching the caribiner? You should be attatching them right on, or next to where they attach to the ends of your hammock.
Are you loosening the cord locks on the...
I had the same problem (Dynaglide and Zing-it are both particularly slippery)
Give your Prussiks another wrap or two, and your knots will hold: guaranteed!
Great news! Your tarps are truly works of art
Glad to hear everything worked out alright! You're gonna love your tarp.
Dealing with PR problems is part of a business. I don't think that anyone is being unfair with their criticism. If you want to run an online business, your reputation is very important. Repeatedly...
Coming from another online businessman I second that^ Being late on a product is one thing...not communicating with your customers is a whole different ballgame
+1 on the Polyester tree straps!
Thanks for introducing yourself!
I just use the ends of my whoopie sling and tie a slippery half-hitch in them ala Shug
Great news!
Great idea!
Are you talking 30 minutes for the hammock, or 30 minutes for the entire setup...i.e. hammock, tarp, bug net, underquilt?
I would love to hear from someone else who has tested this tarp in the rain....bump
Kestrel, you do realize that you are on HammockForums.net, right? Of course we're drinking the Kool-Aid! :)
Much respect to the Sgt's >1lb set-up....but if you're a tarp camper you could ditch everything else and just use the Cuben at a mere 4.45 oz. (You wouldn't be nearly as comfortable though, eh?)

Not many trails near Raleigh, but if you head to Western North Carolina there are a bazillion!
I recommend the Art Loeb

You'll understand them right away when you get the whoopies...just BE CAREFUL! If there isn't a bead/ziptie/etc. on the adjustable loop it can be very easy to pull it all the way through. It takes...
