Hallo! This is an UQ I made for my bicycle touring...unfortunately, after making it, I discovered that I am allergic to down! So I'm making a synthetic one and selling this.

That's so big! It looks lovely :-D
What is the advantage/reasoning of having a hammock that's wider than you're tall? It seems like anything wider than you're laying is just extra material, but...

It's just a 1-2" channel/hem on each side. You thread some rope [I used 550 cord] through it, bunch it up, wrap the rope...
For the shock cord piping, if you aren't completely determined to use the tent material, I would suggest using wide ribbon.
I actually used an old tent as ripstop fabric to make my UQ out of, but...

Hallo everyone. About a month ago I sold my bed to my housemate and I've been sleeping in my DIY hammock and underquilt ever since. Lately I've been getting a pretty sore shoulder every morning,...
Cool - thanks everyone for your input. I think I'll do the UQ - it's popular and proven to work.
wulfy - I found 4 goosedown pillows for $1 each at Seattle's Goodwill Outlet. There were a good...
Hello! I just nabbed a few cheap goose down pillows...and now I'm planning to make some under-insulation.
My question is that it seems like it would be so convenient to convert my DIY hammock into...
Thanks for the feedback everyone :)
JerryW's right - the netting would be on the lower ridge-line, the tarp on the upper suspension line, so they wouldn't touch unless the tarp didn't make an...
Hello all - I am making my own hammock using headchange4u, Just Jeff and Risk's inspiration and info. I've finished with the base and whipping, and am researching suspension. I've been planning on...
