I've heard of this. A friend was on the AT and noticed a very small nick/tear in his SN. He used duct tape on. Middle of the night it gave way almost the entire length of the hammock. REI took...

Anything wrong with them?
I will take it. I need to figure out how to PM
If you like straps then look at the Jacks r Better straps and buckles. Lighter, more infinite adjustments and they dont stretch. I took both pairs of slap straps back. Kept waking up with my butt...
Water should not be a problem right now in that area due to all the rain and snow showers weve had. Any of the water sources listed in the AT Guide will most likely be good. When you hit neels gap...
It a a Thermarest Trekker Lounge in a ENO DN. You would think it would slide all over the place but it really doesnt.
I used my Leighlo 66" 30 degree for the first time. It was low 30s with a howling wind and i stayed very warm. Set up was easy, quality great, light, and compact. 175.00.
I started using a Thermarest pad with a chair kit still on the pad. When I use it in the hammock I leave the side bars in which, I think, keeps it from moving around. I did use a UQ this last trip...
I use a thermarest with a chair kit on it. When I use it in the hammock I leave the chair kit poles in the sides.
ULA Catalyst, down UQ, coat, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, SF tarp, and everything else. No issues.
There are some great hammock spots on top of the mountain. After passing the stone shelter there is a stone ledge on the left side of the "trail" which is about 6 feet tall. It's a great wind break...
A very nice portion of the AT is Woody Gap to Neels Gap. You will pass over Blood Mountain which is the second highest mtn in Ga. You can camp before the mtn, on the way up or on top if you want...
Nothing beats experience, and bad ones at that. Just got back from a overnight trip near Blood Mountain GA. With the wind chill it was in the 20s. Two guys brought tents "because I want to stay...
I also removed the stock binders and ropes. I went with Jacks r Better straps and buckles. The new straps and buckles are much lighter then stock. I left the stuff sack and removed the compression...
I did the same thing to my DN. I bought straps and buckles from JRB. I untied the ropes and removed them from the DN. I then just pulled the looped end through the channel and then ran the other...
I enjoy mine. I use a REI sleeping pad with a chair kit left on it(bars in) so the DN works very well I did remove the ropes and carabiners and now use Jack R Better straps and buckles. I use a...
Thanks for reply
Quick question. When using the snake skins for a tarp, does it all go back into a stuff sack, or is it made to just stuff inside a pack. Or is it user preference.
I always wrap the strap around the tree twice. Never had a problem with them slipping with either me in or out of the hammock.
I don't have any pics. I used these straps http://www.jacksrbetter.com/shop/hammock-end-straps-and-tri-glide-set/ and threaded the looped end through the channels where the rope and binders were...
I took my carabiners and the ropes completely out of my DN and used nylon straps and buckles from JRB.
I alway spread a tarp under my hammock at night. I set all my gear on it under the hammock along with my camp shoes so when I get up in the middle of the night......
Ordered a tarp about three weeks ago. It took about four days before i got the shipping notice. Once it was in the mail it got here quickly.
To late for me. I already returned two sets,of Slap Straps Pro to REI. They didn't even ask why. I bought JRB straps. Very light and, I think, they are easier to set up.
I was looking for the lightest tent I could find and borrowed a tent to try on a trip. I struggled during the night to get out when mother natured called and then was really sore when I did get up. ...
I'm new to hammock camping but find that my Air pad with the chair kit works well with a down sleeping. I don't remove the support poles when I put it into the hammock which I think helps it stay in...
