I think the tension on a ridgeline is much higher than that on a guyline. You might try somethig stronger like something from Dutch, or a small figure 9, or if you're using zingit/lashit/amsteel...

I've used a 10 inch loop turner from walmart on zing it. It's a little tighter than the amsteel but it still works fine. Hope this helps
