Haven't had any issues with the hardware. It does hold up quite well. As far as the ridgeline....A continuous RL does prevent sag when you lay in the hammock, but it can take a bit longer to set up....
If your hammock is new it may be a defect from Hennessy. They do make a great product, but not all hammocks are perfect. A friend of mine bought the HH Expedition zip and when he received it the...
To answer the question about the ring and shock chord inside the Expedition....They are for the bubble pad insulation. I have the HH bubble pad and have used it a couple of times. If memory stands...
Really appreciate the comments. I think I may give it a try. I have the monsoon tarp and I think with the SS I can make it through the fall and some cooler temps. Looks like the soonest I'm going to...
Has anyone had any experience with the HH Super Shelter insulation system? Looks like I'm going to have to get the majority of hangs this year in the fall and winter. Just wondering if it would be...
I had to return a Monsoon rainfly to Hennessy this week (had it 7 months and used it once) for an exchange. The stitching on the tarp itself was coming loose. I am happy to report the process was a...
Thanks for the info HK. I just sent the email Sat. evening...I'm not expecting miracles, but I would like a timely response. If I don't hear anything tomorrow I am going to call. I'll def post what I...
I have a Monsoon rainfly for my Expedition. I have had it since this past Christmas and have a chance to use it one. It seems to be a good fly and provides plenty of cover....I had it out this...
I'm looking for convenient overnighters to do in the Charleston, West Virginia area. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.....
I'm looking for convenient places to hike/hang near the Charleston WV area. Basically, somewhere to hike in, hang and hike out the next day. I am familiar with the more popular areas in the state...
My hammock is a HH Expedition. Hope it covers it. According to HH website it should fit.
Great idea for a minimalist tarp. I'll def give that a try as well. Thanks
Thanks. I'll be sure to check it out when I get it. Hopefully I wont have to send it back.
Anyone had any experience with the Monsoon Rainfly? I think my wife just ordered me one for Christmas. Just checking to see if I should thank her...LOL Just Kidding. Any info on this system would be...
Thanks for the feedback. My big concern was workload and safety.they seem to work well with my tarp but wasn't sure if the bigger ones would be able to hold myself and my hammock. Don't think ill...
Has anyone used or had any experience with figure 9's and tree straps? I'm currently using rap rings and carabineers. Have some smaller fig 9's for tarp hanging, quick shelters, etc.... Seems like...
Ive used the bubble pad with a poncho liner and 0 degree bag and slept very comfortable down to 23 degrees F. I have the expedition zip and it does have the hooks for the pad on the inside. It did...
Very nice to meet you WV. unfortunately, I will not be able to make it to Watoga....work conflict...I love Watoga, though. Hopefully there will be more events near by. Keep me posted.
Welcome from WVa. I'm new myself. Looks like I may have found a new internet home....LOL
Was looking for a way to save weight, but found it to be more efficient and much more comfortable than my tent. You can set up camp just about anywhere!!!!
Hello to all. I'm relatively new to hammocking, about a year....First hang was in April of this year in the Cranberry Wilderness area of WV. Over 2 feet of snow and lows in the low 20's. I have to...
