My BB has been perfect from the get go with no fiddling of anything. Strap to a couple trees and jump in it. And after the first few uses without tying it out, i removed the tieouts. No calf thing...
Is there anything light or pack small enough for motorcycle camping..
Put the money towards a super fly or old man winter..
it'll cover two hammocks but not enough coverage to protect in any sort of weather.
kids nerf football.
I was down to the same two hammocks, and decided I'd look here and get the one that came for sale first and could save a few bucks...
If the same price I'd get the extra ft of ridgeline length.
I wish my superfly was larger... about 2ft on each side would just about do it.
Could you use the hammock and go to ground with both of you in it. The only extra gear would be a pad and bag for him.
Count me in as well please... I'll pay the shipping to Canada
Another thought as I love the superfly buts its small. Would be to add pieces to each side so it comes down another 2.5-3ft. The geometry of the tarp and the single ridgeline stays intact..
I think that number of 12ft across is incorrect.. The hammocks will almost be touching so that width number may less than 1ft. And the hammocks won't be 4ft wide each. No way two hammocks side by...
I'd say 12ft ridge line with 16ft side to side. I don't camp with side by side hammocks (yet). But park my motorcycle next to my hammock which would need similar coverage as two hammocks. I have a...
A superfly won't provide much protection.. imo you'll need a 16ft tarp.
Your gear can only get so small. I have sl 1.7 wbbb and can't see anything being smaller than that and being comfortable. Some of the other stuff can get smaller like tarp, clothing, cooking gear...
You'll have to set it up and try it. I think mine a 6ft for the back and about 12 for the front for using as a porch.
I agree with this.
I have a big agnes bag that only has insulation on the top so it very close to a top quilt. I tent camp as well and the big agnes bag has a slot in the bottom to accept a pad....
Pretty heavy... really. I want it for both rain and shade.. the SF does a good job as any..
No offense to you or your cousin but this doesn't make sense to me... sure it may be quicker to stuff in a backpack, but my tarp has 8 tie outs not including tree ties, under quilt has bungees, and...
Not long enough imo.... got mine today and while it's a very nice piece of kit, I would like if the sides were another 3 ft on each side.
I like to hang my tarp high and park my motorcycle under...
Recommend getting a hammock with netting installed. That's an easy decision where you'll encounter bugs. The tarp is more of a personal choice.
Walmart, Canadian Tire, or even the dollar store has those 4ft fibreglass driveway marker rods. mods are necessary but they are only 2-3 bucks each.
without having used or seen either. I'd get the DD
Warbonnet wants more for a camo BB then a green one. Same for the tarps.. He's one of many examples.
I'm in camo 8 hrs a day... I like camo :)
My pms came before any out that. I guess I did break a rule though and it all happened pretty quickly trying to sort two other deals and checking in on this one.....I'll take responsibility.
In...
I'll try to help.....
I wanted the tarp initially and mentioned in my reply "I'll take it" and that I could pick up to save shipping costs. At the same time, I was also trying to secure a deal...
Don't think so. not enough side coverage. the side walls would end at chest height. I use a 10x13 tarp with 10ft being the ridgeline. one side at 6ft goes to the ground and I have very large porch....
I'll take 2nd dibs on the superfly. Depending where you are in Ontario, I may be able to pick-up to save you 30ish bucks for cross border shipping.
I'd do it... give me a place to cook and have the motorcycle under one side when porched.
That was great and the tune was perfectly timed for paddys day....
I like the bottom model. The two top pics are the only style I've seen.
Not a tarp but the rain cover that can also be used on the bottom as well?
Does the DD hammock come with the other stock parts, ie tree straps, poles, tarp.
Thanks.
Please post a review once you get a few nights into it.
DD Jungle Hammock, all in one
Welcome from a Newfoundlander, who has live on Vancouver Isl for 4 years and now living in Ontario.
cheers
I just watched all your vids... thanks for sharing, you sold me on the DD jungle.
Cheers
I have a hammock bliss no see-um, it's a nice hammock. I use a big agnes bag with pocket for a pad, so it will sleep similar to the one in the vid. Its a large hammock and the side come up high...
Good info, but looking forward to updated info on how it sleeps, and any mods or tricks you use.
I always sit in my hammock and never put any thought into it. Can be done with or without a ridgeline.
I can sit upright like being on a kitchen chair or lean back like being in a large recliner.
I can't speak for the poster but middle of the road in this terms mean, you can have lighter, heavier, better or less protection, quality etc.
You have to remember.... a hamock is a place to...
As for minimum it wet weather. I'd want at least a 10ftx12ft of whichever brand or material you like and can afford. The 10 ft will cover the hammock from head to toe. the 12ft end will be within a...
Thanks all,
A set of mesh skins are on the way from Wilderness Logics.
Looking for snakeskins. I can't find anything locally and figured I'd try here first before I sink into fleabay... DIY would be ok, mesh too. Not overly picky, I'll paypal 20 bucks.
Got an...
Bulk for me... I don't hike so weight is not so much of a concern. Motorcycle camping especially camping with two.
If riding solo, the bike's 2 side cases, the rear trunk and tank bag will hold...
Very similar to what I do, with a few changes.
My Bliss hammock came with similar length rope coming from the hammock. I removed a fist full of rope on each end by just having a loop to the gathered...
Is your plan to go around the whole hammock, both sides and ends and hang the netting all the way to the ground?
I think that's the only way to 100% keep out the bugs. Otherwise any opening even...
Sounds logical. Ideally you'd want at least a few inches between the net and the hammock. This is something you'll have to trial and error in your yard. Maybe have someone get in your hammock while...
I motorcycle/hammock camp and although I haven't gone to ground yet, I expect too. I'd do similar as the above pic but without poles. I'd tie off the ends of the hammock to the right side peg on...
You could buy an inexpensive hammock and use that as a 10x5 tarp.
Yesterday was my first encounter with amsteel... I made several whoopies and an adjustable ridgeline. I have a 6 in loop at the ends of my hammock with a caribiner attached, so my RL is about a ft...
