Made a continuous tarp ridgeline using Dutchware's wasp, a dutch hook and soft shackles.
Thank you! Perfect!
Can someone point out the difference between Cinch Bugs and Beetle Buckles, and what has been your experience between the two? Is one easier to use that another? I have the standard WB buckles and...
Will Beetle Buckles fit the WB straps?
Following this discussion. Pictures of how you attach them to your tarp doors would be nice! I've got a Superfly that I'm trying to figure out the best way to close/open the doors.
I pitch my tarp as close to the hammock ridgeline on the ends without it touching the suspension - if rain is expected. Otherwise, its at least six inches, or I'm in porch mode.
The s-biner and suspension lines on my Phoenix UQ are a tangled mess. Can someone post a picture or two of how they should look attached to the s-biner?
I would love to trade in my new UQ from another vendor for the Wookie to fit my XLC - if it fits as well as my Lynx. ;)
While it is clear how to rig the tarp for ground dwelling, I haven't seen any details shared on rigging a Ridgerunner as a bug bivy on the ground. Not that I intentionally want to do so, it's best to...
When I know there are no suitable trees, I go back to my one person REI Quarter Dome tent. Very light and plenty of room.
I got the 2QZQ UQP breathable rip stop and very happy with it.
Right now, everything has its own place in my pack. No sharp pointy things near my Ridgerunner or Cloudburst tarp. I use 2QZQ's storage sacks for my stakes and hammock poles, and I use a quart...
I have found Picaridin to be a very effective alternative to DEET, won't harm fabric, and can be applied to skin. The chemical has been used world-wide to repel mosquitoes and ticks since the 1980s,...
the weather is too variable in middle Tennessee to count on consistently cold or windy weather.
After owning the Ridgerunner for a couple of months, I absolutely love it. However, the same question posed by the OP is what came to my mind. Instead of the Spindrift, why could you not make a...
I ended up ordering a Burrow 40 with 1oz overfill since that temp will cover most all of my camping needs. I'm unlikely to camp in sub-freezing weather; just too old for that, ;)
It was 5989, but probably more important was that I ordered it before the Black Friday sale.
I purchased a Ridgerunner about three months ago, and I can tell you that carabiners do not come with the hammock. You can purchase them separately on the website, or buy some climbing-rated ones...
I initially thought about ordering a 20 first and a 50 later on, but ultimately I settled on a single quilt: a 40 degree with 1 oz overstuff. Enough people here on the forum convinced me I could vent...
Ordered a Burrow 40 with 1oz overstuff last Thursday, and it shipped yesterday (the following Tuesday). Can't argue with that!
Yes, I suspect one cannot get 100% closure due to the suspension triangle. 80-90% closure would be better than none.
Posted this in the Warbonnet thread, but got no responses, so I thought I would try it here:
Any WBRR / Cloudburst owners using 2QZQ Grizz Beaks with their tarp? I'm debating whether to get the WB...
Ordered a Lynx under quilt on Wednesday, got the shipping notice the next day. Thanks Brandon!
I'm in middle Tennessee too, and trying to decide myself between a 40 degree and a 20 degree top quilt. I don't think I'll ever camp in 20 degrees, but 40 degrees may not be enough. I'm leaning...
ThermaRest RidgeRest SOlite. Light and cheap relative to inflatable pads, but bulkier to carry. Flattens and widens the lay without raising you up too high like an inflatable pad can do.
I may come down for Friday night. I decided my spring backpacking trip was my last tent camp tortured trip, so I ordered a WBRR and have yet to sleep in it. Still not sure if I can swing it, but I...
I was referencing the use of mini line-locs, using the instructions and method by the manufacturer on setting them up.
I made up a set of 6 foot tarp lines with Zing-it according to Brandon's YT video for tarp set up. I then got some line-locs from Dutch and tried them out. I really like them, but I quickly realized...
I was up there 3-4 years ago last weekend in October and there was snow above 3500 feet and temp at Newfound Gap was 24 with a wind speed to match! Park service closed the road over the mountains.
I blame all of you for my situation. I have a brand new, never used Cloudburst tarp, and after reading this topic, I wished I had ordered the Superfly to go with my Ridgerunner.
Per Metolius website, 23 grams
I just purchased a pair of Metolius FS Mini Biners from REI for my RR. They are 23g each and climbing rated. I also got two different colors so I can leave them attached to the webbing straps and...
The WBRR and tarp weigh 7.5 oz more than my one person REI tent + ground tarp, but I'm thinking the comfort is worth the slight weight gain. Plus I can lose the ENO and atlas straps from my pack, so...
This is my first serious attempt to retire from tent camping. I've carried an ENO for relaxing, but I figured I needed a dedicated hammock for camping. I settled on the Warbonnet Ridgerunner and...
Used it this summer for the first time, and I am very pleased with it. I done with DEET.
Worth the wait!
RR and Cloudburst order placed 8/13, shipped yesterday with 2 day priority! Thank you! Can't wait for that first hang!
3 weeks today . . . and counting
New hammock camper question: how do you center the tarp over the hammock with this configuration? I certainly see how it would be easy to tighten up, but I can't quite get how you center it over the...
Order 5240, WBRR + Cloudburst tarp, placed Aug 13. Still waiting :(. Suspense is killing me!
Has anyone with a top cover noticed any condensation problems?
