Missing the trees.
I am also a maybe and most likely won't do the cave tour
Here's the old archived original tablecloth thread for anyone wanting to check it out: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/archive/index.php/t-54858.html
has a ton of information
Hey everyone,
The one I had at hang was a 90x156, but I also use the 60x126 as a good size for a hammock I may use for camping or something like that. Hope that helps.
It was great to meet all of y'all! Had a blast. Definitely want to see some recipe's! BigE, I'd love some mule tape as well.
I'm also at work haha. I almost thought we should just open a chat room and be able to talk quickly ha
Anyone know what trails the campsite is near or whereabouts the campsites are in Jeff Memorial?
I also packed earplugs. Good to know they won't be used in vain haha
yikes. That sounds a bit rough. Trying to decide on dinner before I get there tonight or just cook a hot dog or something while I'm there
looks like I was wrong. I was looking at Louisville not fairdale.
I'm ashamed to say I just got this comment
Weather forecast looks like it's warmed up a bit for the evenings. I'm not quite fully packed but we'll be there this evening ready to relax in the woods.
I'll have a Warbonnet Blackbird and a Warbonnet Superfly. I can't even remember by bottom and top quilt brands but the top is 0* and the bottom is 20*
I've got the chips and salsa. My brother could possibly bring some baked beans or something like that? Not sure what else would be good. I can try and make it between 5-6 pm as well. Will have to...
Confirmed that my plus one is a go. My brother and I will be there both nights!
nice! Thanks for the tip. The trees floweth.
Maybe this has been covered and I missed it, but what's the tree status of this site? Are there plenty since it seems there will be many of us? Should we bring stands?
Also food wise, am I lame if...
Just got a message regarding this. I think I am in. Let me make sure.
edit: may also see if my brother is available to come.
I will agree. The stand is a must for any hammock lover.
If you didn't have the pipe then you would pull the tripods in and they'd collapse. Hanging on the pipe pulls the force down instead of inward
Messed around with my tarp set up and took a few pics.

Sounds awesome
How'd you set your tarp
Also would love to know what hammock this is
Still want to see your tarp set ups
Could use some ideas for how to set up a tarp on this thing. Currently have a wilderness logics tadpole and a warbonnet superbly but can't seem to attach either one well. Here are some pics.

Do you hang low?
It's the chain link fence pole. After some tinkering it appears I was hanging at too tight of an angle. I let the hammock closer to the ground and the bend went away. I just need to get my Ridge pole...

I used a 3 piece top rail today and I'm guessing it shouldn't bend this bad? Any thoughts?
Loving seeing all the KY hangers represent. Maybe we should try and arrange a group hang some time
Yes. I wrote this pretty early on in the post.
"These are a design created on #hammockforums known as the #turtledogstand"
Looks like ENO put up a picture of a bunch of TD stands on Instagram. No proper credit though. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/08/19/ab9e0d000ab6d8721874eed7e81b7e34.jpg
Edited for spelling
Curious how you hung your tarp?
I have to ask if one could just put a tarp over the top rail and stake it down without having to stake down the sides that would normally be around trees?
It's been a good journey. As I type this, I have a mini-TD stand set up beside my office desk. It truly has been a wonderful invention. Glad to be a part of it.
I'm totally interested in that tool dip. Hadn't heard of it.
Yeah, Nift is right. Larks head your continuous loop right around where you have the fabric tied up and once you lay in it, it will make the continuous loop's hold even stronger
yeah, there are a few using the turtledog for a fulltime stand. To answer your other question, after you whip the ends, if you can get your hands on some amsteel blue, all you'd really need with a...
Love this idea. Will be using it for sure
London, KY here and you're right, it's brutal! Was out at 2 yesterday fiddling with some ridgelines and I was soaked in sweat. Go Cats!
I'm sorry Mojoe, you are sporting what we call a turtle lady stand
I do have a special place in my heart for my gold tablecloth hammock. But that did progress to ripstop and me sewing some edges!
thanks for the responses!
what are the pros and cons of each?
made my own hammock. I love it and when I accidentally rubbed it on the ground and created weak spots, I was so upset. Now looking at making another to replace it. I have a WBBB and I find myself...
yes indeed
ran across this on Instagram and said it was taken in Cambodia.

A tablecloth is a great option if you're strapped for cash. I am afraid my ripstop one may fail soon. I accidentally snagged it on the ground and now there's some weak spots. I am planning to make...
Here's a picture of my short stand. From ground to top rail it's 4 feet. From ground to top of the stand, it's just over 5.

that second picture is pretty hard to see. Also, did you do a panorama for that second pic?
