I sleep in a Yukon Outfitters 11.6' gathered end hammock on a commercial stand. Because adjusting the height also increases the length of the stand, I can get my hammock almost but not quite where I...

How the bleep DID you get your body into that hammock? I watched the video to find out, and that part was not in it.
Being older and not so mobile, I can't get out of my hammock if I can't get my...
Use really good stakes.

My stand like that is tall, with chains that I can adjust how high the bar is. My hammock, though, is a Hennessey and the tarp attaches to the hammock rope, not separately.

If it's 90° and humid, I'm gonna just hang the hammock and enjoy the CBS! Just saying.

A great source of linen (yippy can make that towel) is http://fabrics-store.com.

Has anyone built a hammock out of linen? I'm thinking a heavy or canvas weight linen for my indoor hammock..

Having had an American opossum living with me, they can be cuddly. And when they are, you can't put them down. 4 hands and a prehensile tail cling real well. (The fact that mine was brain damaged...
Was a one-day sale. I caught it, for something I was going to buy anyway. Score.

I'm a side sleeper, very comfy in both my hammocks.

When I sleep in my hammock, I don't use a pillow at all.

Since it says the picnic area is open all year, they mean just the campground closes for the winter.

I have a knit hat that pulls down over my face. The part that pulls down, I knitted open enough to see and breathe through comfortably, and loose fitting to not be constructing. The head part I knit...

I tried out my daughter's Asym ZIP, my grandson's bottom entry, and my SIL's non-HH hammock, and got an Asym ZIP of my own. The only things I've changed are 1. Kammock Python straps, because trees...
I am a side sleeper and quite comfy in both my Hennessey and my internet $20 special whose brand I don't recall.

In warm weather I just use a Whitney wool blanket folded over, in the HH under a sleeping bag. Another wool over if it gets cold. Colder weather I have a sheepskin pad under all that. Some day I'll...

In an actual campground this time with 200 of my closest friends.

My back and hips hurt when I sleep in a flat bed. I am a side sleeper and my Hennessey Asym is very comfy and I can bounce out of bed without pain.

Still hanging, trees this time! Both hammocks swinging in the breeze at tumbling creek primitive CG, near Ducktown TN. Creekside site. :)

Still hanging, here at Raccoon Creek WMA for two weeks.

Sheepskin.
Since I prefer a firm mattress, I'll probably stay happy with the Hennessey. Good. The sheep pad, that's for warmth since I don't own an UQ yet. It does well at preventing CBS.
Thank you. What kind of fabric does your other one use? I have a sheepskin pad in mine and a sleeping bag, so I don't feel the fabric much anyway.
I have read this, but haven't read specifically HOW are they so different? I have had my HH for two years and it's the most comfy thing I've ever slept in. I have another hammock, which I use for...
It's partly length (my shorter hammock wants at least 10 feet) and mostly my van's not empty like that, but full of stuff.
Since I can't hang IN my Caravan, I've been thinking of how to do something like this. Following avidly.
Are you wanting them for your tarp or for your hammock itself?
So far my refitted stand is doing ok. I could use some advice still, though, in hopes of not landing on the ground again.
1. The best angle / distance for tripod legs to be strong and stable. They...
What I had then was my python straps hung from the apex of the tripod, with the hammock and the eye bolts at the ends of the ridge pole both attached to the python straps a loop or two down.

I might be in Ohio this summer.
I was going to do a new ridge anyway because it was 10', which fit my lounging hammock but not my Hennessey. And yes, I asked at the store, didn't just look and give up.
Local HD doesn't have fencing. I got 3/4", and 1", one inside the other. Should hold til I get somewhere else. I hope.
I've been sleeping suspended from my hammock stand every night for the past month, no problem. This morning it gently put me on the ground. Wtf! Stand is 3/4" EMT. ...
Nice. What keeps it from collapsing toward one end or the other? Are there lines I don't see on my phone?
Ok, thanks. That explains why it looks like it's on a hoop of some kind.
Tell me about that tarp you have; it looks different from any I've seen. Thanks.
My grandson was 5 or 6 when they took up hanging and turned me on to it.
So my hammock stands works great, very secure. Got the Hennessey to hang ok in it in spite of it being really too short - but the rain fly doesn't play nice and I got wet the other day, so I have to...
No tying to trees here. :( This will be a test of the hammock stands, with wind too. I staked them down. I actually made this stand for the other hammock, and the ridge pole is a bit short for the...
I'm here for a week. The Hennessey is for sleeping, the other is for lounging.
