I'm no expert, but I think the sil version would really block all rainsplash from the ground as well as sideways rain from hitting your underquilt. Like, totally and completely 100% block it.

I got breathable. I'm not super concerned about splash. Blocking the wind was more my focus. And i thought silnylon might be clammy.
I finally got a chance to try out my new underquilt protector, and I was very pleased. Temps got down to 7* C (45F?) and the UQP really made a difference in holding in the warmth of my summer...
