I go with 83% it feels good and I'm afraid to mess up a good thing.
I try for all earth tones, but I'll use whatever I can get. Just a habit I guess, trying to blend in.
I hope I can make it, they can't get much closer to home. be my 1st hang with anyone else.
I like it, guess I'll have to try to make one. Or 4 since there are 4 of us. Love the movie too, think I got it at home already
Mine has a bug net over it, there is some fancy name for it but its a bug net just the same.:D
I'm from Sigourney originally, I'll probably end up back there too. Its between IA city and Ottumwa.
Where at approx.? I'm from SE Iowa originally, stuck at Ft Polk til next summer then probabally back to IA.
I just treated 2 hammocks last week, getting ready for R+R back home. I'll probably treat the clothes when i get home. I used the military issue stuff since it was not being used by anyone else...

It is the rope used to connect 2 or more camo nets together. It is used on the older style camo nets. I have played with it many times in the last 20 years. I always thought it was nylon or...
For me it is mostly to get away from the people. I go to the woods to get away not find a crowd or party. I dont mind people around if they are quiet and/or considerate, but to many times they are...

Now that I know what it is, I guess I'll have to add one. I like the idea.
I like your webpage, it taught me alot.
I'm thinking about going back for 1 more, no cabinet but it may have the parts I need.

I got a new treasure:), a Singer model 201 made in 1940. It's in a cabinet and still works. Missing a pin for the spool but I improvised. So far it's fun to play with, it sews light wieght wally...
I wondered about that name, We inherited 2 skunks last spring when their mother got hit by a car. Cute little buggers, they think they are part of the family now.
I frequently see skunks about...
Someday when Uncle Sam is done with me I plan to design a house to hopefully live out my days in. A hammock room was already in the plan(something like a sun room with a view). Along with my...
This is what I tried and it worked well for us, until it was decided (I was told:rolleyes:) we should sleep in the same hammock. Which, also works well for us.
This is what I had to do before my x ran away, I kept it in my truck and accumulated about $250 in 9 mos. My new wife lets me get stuff most of the time so now it doesn't matter, since I'm not in...

I can't watch the videos at work, I'll try to check them out this evening at home.
I may not have explained the idea well enough. I hope to tie the prusiks around the ends of the hammock, just below the whipping. The end is about 1 in diameter where I whipped it, maybe some...
I am contemplating:confused: using a single piece of 7/64 amsteel blue to hang my hammock. The idea is to tie the hammock directly to it using prusik knots giving me a single ridge line and...

Is this still tenatively a go?? I'm trying to make plans for that weekend. Either hanging or go see my daughter for her B-day. Leaning towards camping so far.
I think I may have her hooked on hanging, it doesnt hurt her back as much. She drug me out last night to sleep in the back yard.
I'm using a ridgeline so I think the hang will be close most of the time. I'm trying to get the weight down, my wife has back issues thanks to uncle sam and the Army so I'm the pack mule, and the...
I couldnt find anything, maybe im just slow. Which is lighter, zippers or velcro?? I have an idea (probably not new) of making a modular system using zippers or velcro to attach...
I was just going to imquire about the same thing. My wife and I have been using a common tree at the foot so far, and whatever works on the head end. Sometimes the different trees a short distance...
Im doing the math on this now, Hope to get seatbelt polyester but may go with polypro. thanks all
I'm trying to figure out which of the polys I need to use to make my suspension, what do you all think is better. I see poly is better than nylon but cant figure out which goes where.
Thanks
I can try to make it with the wife, Still figuring out the cold weather gear though, it depends on what the Army,and/or boy scouts have planned that weekend, and if i can dream up some type of...
Im just south of Ft Leonard Wood, on the north edge of Paddy Creek. Got to love living this close to the forest.
I used a bowline with about a 4 inch loop, somewhat girth hitched to the ends. Only one line that way. Also used it for a ridgeline.
I built one out of waly world cloth, cost about 5 bucks. I'm trying to figure the best plan for a tarp to make. I used 2 army ponchos for a week while at boy scout summer camp.
Anyone tried this for hanging?
