She does not like spiders but as long as i check her boat for her she will paddle and camp for days. she is even one heck of a campfire chef. carmalized onions and pasta with sausage in castiron...
i just ordered one for my wife. amazing quality.
My wife and I are avid backpackers and kayak campers and she has been getting all my gear when I upgrade. I go out alot myself as well. I just got an XLC last year so I thought it was time she got...
I'm 6'5" and love the double. I just hang with allot of sag and use the extra width for a very diagonal hang.
Here it will go from 80 in the day to 40s at night and that overcover is awesome for these temp swings. Its amazing how warm it gets with the sun hitting it.
What are the dimentions you are using to make your snake skins? I am about to make a set as well.
Sounds great. That's one of the color choices I was thinking of.
Hey. It seems to me with all these nice hand crafted quilts that we need a pic thread. There are so many color options it would be cool to see what people order. Also it could help those of us...
I always wanted to be organized
I have a gt double and I am 6'5" I found hanging it with a lot of sag produces the best hang for me. I can get comfortable with a good diagonal lay that has no Ridge. It's easier for me than the...
Lol that was awesome.
Awesome. Thanks for the fast reply. I may end up having to post the xlc and try another option.
Hello I am in the process of finding the "fit" as far as a hammock goes. Im 6'5" 239 and broad shouldered. I started with the gt double as my trial for hanging and loved it. Infact I still use it...
I dont mind the eno. Plus its great for storage under you. Just toss stuff out of the hammock and grab them as needed under you. Im 6'5" and I fit. My gt double is a bit tight but not bad.
I would go to vermont. Awesome outdoors and burlington is a great place to shop and check out the lake. It has a great night life and very friendly and clean as well.
Shipping varies a lot. Mine took 3 days but some take weeks. I use a larger biner just because I try to avaid the strap from bunching. I just wanted to minimize stress and ware.
Hobbit I had a camp about 5 min away from you that I always hung at lol.
Welcome from up the road in port allegany. Im about 40 min away if you ever want a test hang.
Welcome from port allegany pa.
I will take a shot
I love mine. If the sun is out and its cold out its like an oven. It feels great.
I position mine roughly the way i want it. Unzip half way and flip the open part into the shelf or if you dont have a bb roll the open part out of the way. Sit down in the middle by the part that...
I was going to see if 2qzq could maybe put a patch of mesh in the cover with a zip flap to control venting. Then you could also have a small window.
Thanks for this awesome give away. It's actions from people like this that really make this place what it is. Thanks again. I look forward to updating my pack. The diy bug has bitten me lol.
This would be a nice piece of kit to replace mine with. Win or not thanks for the give away. Nothing like helping feed a hungry hanger.
Hello. I am looking into the idea of making my own synthetic under quilt. I have two sleeping bags I was going to toss until I figured I may as well give a quilt a try rather than just waste the...
The xlc and the Super fly are great together. Congrats on your gear. Post some pics all set up.
I have a gt double and am 6'5 255. I really love sleeping in it. You can get a good diagonal lay and for the money you can't really beat it. Its very easy to find a comfortable lay in it.
Dicks sporting goods has fleece liners now for 13 bucks.
I suppose I could throw my name in the pot. Thanks for the opportunity to win some gear. My wife is getting into this now so I need another hammock.
If you lay slightly facing center and she lays on her side facing you and spooning in it works fine. My wife and I share my gt double now and then for a good nap but we have not tested a full 8...
Here is the xlc in winter mode and compared to the sf. With the cover I had 26 degrees inside and 5 outside.
I hammock camp up at heart Lake every year 8^) welcome to the site and hang on.
After using the coveri would say buy it. For the money you can't go wrong. It's awesome for killing wind and holding some heat.
Well I went outside today to test the new gear. It made it up to 45 with sun so I could not resist the urge to hang in the xlc. I popped the bug net off and put the cover on and the temp increase...
Well the xlc arrived with a satisfying thud on my front porch. It immediately got opened up and deployed in the living room. It's nice having a wife who is fine with eye hooks in her walls lol. ...
I spent a few nights in a gt double. If your taller the double is nice because you can lay almost flat with a very diagonal lay. The fabric is soft and durable. The suspension needs upgraded...
Well I just thought I would share my latest wb experience. After the fantastic dealings with Brandon on my super fly purchase I knew my next hammock was going to be a wb brand. I placed my order on...
If your a bigger guy you may want a little bit larger tarp to be able to give yourself some room to move about under it. I also like a little bit larger one for the very rainy days when all you can...
Another possibility is there are allot of us who like very light gear and may buy one over another just because they want to save weight. if your more liberal with your advertised weight you will be...
I am 6'5" and 250# and I have no problems sleeping in my gt double. It's wide enough to get a good diagonal lay. I just updated the suspension to whoopies and ratchet straps to make it a little more...
I run the wb superfly. Its cat cut but not the doors so you have an excellent seal around them. It's sil nylon and is my go to tarp. I had a smaller poly tarp but the sf blows it out of the water. ...
Mine is on the back of our jetta. I should have gotten more.
I have a gt double and love it. It's a very well built hammock and I have had about 450lbs in mine and it held fine. I also have some extended stays in it with no complaints. It's a very good rig...
I use an olive Brown tarp black lines for suspension and green for guy lines. My hammock is bright orange though but you can't tell when the bug net is deployed. Next time I camp at my obscure...
I was hanging there last month. Awesome place to spend time.
I went with the doors not only for driving rain protection but also to guide in a breeze if desired or just just a little extra coverage for when sitting in the camp chair in my tarp.
My gt hammock is bright orange with some silver.
