Have fun everyone. I really wanted to join you, but I'm on my way to LA for work right now. Hopefully work won't conflict with the next hang.

Welcome from a Minnesota transplant who lives in Bend Oregon now.
Hi from just over the mountains to the east of you in Bend.
Thanks everybody. We looked a long time for where we wanted to live. Without a doubt Bend was our favorite town. I was born and raised in MN and hate to say it, but MN doesn't have anything on...
Thanks. It looks like there's quite a group of hangers in the PNW. Hopefully I can make it to the hang near Mt Hood in January if I'm not working.
Hi everybody. My wife and I were finally able to move from Minneapolis to the mountains out west. I feel bad about having to bail on a couple of the MN hangs And not being able to meet everybody. ...
Sorry guys, but my wife and I aren't going to be able to make it. My brother from Oregon is now going to be in town during this hang. Have fun. I guess I'll have to wait until the next get...
Well, I just found out I don't have to work this weekend. So, my wife and I will be able to make it. We're coming from Minneapolis and will probably head up Thurs night. We can't wait.
On a...
Sorry guys, but it looks like a last minute obligation is taking me out of this trip. I was all packed up and ready to go too! Have fun and stay warm.
I'll be there. I tried to come up with a hammock setup, but kept coming up short on under insulation. So, I'll still be the lone man out with my megalight and tigoat stove. See ya in the morning.
Phase one of my prep is complete. I built a pulk today using these plans:

It cost me 18 bucks minus the sled which I already had.
I...
Well then count me in!
Too Funny! I grew up cold camping in MN and I'm not sure if my motivation level is high enough any more. There's someting so nice about being able to dy out wet stuff and warm up a little bit.
This sounds like a great trip. Would anybody be offended if I didn't hang? I bought a TiGoat Cylinder Stove last year and put a stove jack in my BD Megalite. I haven't had an opportunity to try it...
Unfortunately, that wasn't tea! That was the actual color of the water in the creek. Just like one gigantic urine test.
You folks are way too funny! I've been showing my wife all the responses and she can't stop laughing. On a good note, she has agreed to try the hammock again once it cools down a little bit.

Removing the UQs is a good idea, but it was still cool enough at night that we needed something. A much lighter weight UQ would have prob been perfect. I'm eyeing those IX UQs.
The Tea water...
My wife and I took a quick trip up to the SHT from 7/8 to 7/10. It was our second trip using our new hammock rigs. The weather was great for the entire time, other than a quick sprinkle on the last...
Hi, from another Minneapolis newbie.
Thanks for the welcome. Now I'm sitting here trying to decide which type of suspension I want to put on my traveller. I guess it'll have to be whoopies.
Hi everybody,
I'm just getting into the hanging thing and really liking it so far. I guess I'm just tired of coming home from backpacking trips and feeling so beat down from not sleeping well. ...
