I noticed the same thing, no For Sale section.
Hopefully, it can be fixed soon. I am sure there are a lot of smartphone users out there.
Practical no, possible yes. They are the closest trees I have, and my soil is too shallow for posts. I hit bedrock real quick.
I placed 320 lb SWL eye hooks 11 feet 4 inches up. I used stainless...
I have two trees 34 feet apart. According to the hammock calculator I need to install eye bolts 11.3 feet high. Eye bolts cause minimal short term damage and the tree will continue to grow...
How is Kroil for sewing machines/thread injectors?
Will a gas canister fit inside?
Has anyone tried these hammocks?
Looks like it would be awfully hard to attach the suspension and get in or out of the hammock.

This was my mother's machine. It's a 1958 Montgomery Wards URR-279A.
I have a lot to learn about this, but my first few projects have gone well.

The superfly is a great tarp for the money.
Search for the "turtlelady" or "turtledog" stands. Both work very well.
Consult the "hammock calculator" for the correct pole height based on your chosen length.
For the one-piece CRL, what length are you using?
If you keep a "V" at both ends, and have a max tree spacing of about 18 feet, would you use about 30 feet of line?
Are the old thread injector tables fairly uniform, in that any table can house and mount any thread injector?
I need to put my 1958 Montgomery Wards machine on something, and the old table it was...
I just emailed the Loj to find out if hammocks were allowed at the Wilderness Campground. Anthony (Loj employee) replied that they are allowed.
I will be headed up there next weekend, so I can...
RE: #6 - What pattern is the camo?
I have that same exact chair.
You can hang it from a single line suspended from a tree limb or a metal eye screwed into a ceiling joist.
Check out Underground Quilts. There are many reviews in the "other manufacturers" section.
Paul - Nice video. I just placed an order this weekend.
I eagerly wait to see the replies to your questions, as I have a Hennessy Expedition and a WBBB.
Definitely bring the pad and use it. It will help a lot. How wide is it? I have pads that range...
How would it work if you replaced the Insultex layers with a second poncho liner folded in half? Basically, you would use two PL to create one PLUQ. It would probably be heavy, but would it insulate...
Where is a good source to find copies of manuals for older thread injectors?
I just found my mothers Montgomery Wards URR-279A sewing machine (c. 1958) hidden away in a cabinet of my garage. It's...
Reviving an old thread, but thought it might help others that haven't seen this.
To ward off the hordes of bugs on my hammock and tarp this weekend, I sprayed both with 29% DEET spray.
Big...
I second Cole's suggestion. The cheapest route is to just buy another pole section and cut it to the length you need.
In my stand, I cut the pipe in half. One end had a tapered (or reduced diameter) portion that fits into the opposing end. That way each length of pipe is about five feet long. I used a reciprocating...
Here is a Hennessy Expedition with a very saggy ridgeline. I had the plastic rings secured to the shackles at each end of the pole. It would help to have another 2 feet on the pole.

After being inspired by all the Turtlestands, I tried making one of my own.
I went to Lowes and picked up 6 2x2's. Most if not all of the wood was warped or twisted, but I picked out the best I...
Awesome idea, thanks for posting such detailed instructions.
Try the CRL underneath the tarp. You may never get every wrinkle out, but it should help.
A non-rectangular tarp can be aligned with your diagonal lay in the hammock, so that is an advantage....
Have you tried a CRL?
Mine thinks I am crazy too, and has no idea why I want to test it out before going out in the woods.
I just ordered a Superfly myself. For the price, it looks hard to beat.
What is the make and model of your hammock? What type of suspension does it have?
Welcome from NY.
France is a beautiful country. I spent a term abroad there back in my high school days. We spent about a month in Paris, then travelled south through the Loire Valley for about a...
I just watched one of Brandon's setup videos. With your help and the video, it makes a lot more sense. I will give it a trial run this evening.
Just set up a WBBB DL 1.1, and had a question. Does it matter which direction you lay? I did not see a distinct foot box, and it seemed like both directions would work.
I have it set up in porch...
I was just at a Camporee in upstate NY, and did not see a single hammock. Maybe some troops like to maintain 2 scouts per tent for the buddy system?

Looks like the earliest patented attempt was US Patent 3,675,256 (filed in 1970). This one shows a hammock enclosed by a sleeping bag.
US Patent 3,964,113 (filed in 1975), shows a similar idea....
Permethrin is great stuff. I have one excellent story on its effectiveness.
A buddy and I were walking to a bowhunting spot. We had to cross a grassy field that had grass about knee to waist high....
For those of you near a Herb Philipsons (an outdoor gear and clothing store), they have a 1/2" CCF pad that is 71"x24" for $9.99. I picked one up just to experiment with and the foam is very soft,...
Hello and welcome to HF.

I know Cambridge very well. My grandfather ran a dairy in Troy and his brother ran a dairy in Cambridge. I still have family in Cambridge. Ever been to the Bog? I have cousins that run that as well.
Newbie from upstate New York. Just purchased a Hennessy Exped and am amazed at how comfortable a hammock can be.
This site has been extremely informative.
I forgot to mention, this is for a Hennessy Exped.
