Have you tried having a few beers before getting in your hammock? Might help.
Just kidding.
Real comment... What makes it uncomfortable for you? After many years of hanging, I am just now...

I am glad you adressed this Dutch, thank you. I placed an order the other day with a note on the order about a problem. Items with size options were not selectable and the tomato powder and bean...
I use half of a therm-a-rest Ridgerest in large size. It's perfect for sitting or standing. In half size it is 3/4 body coverage in case I must go to ground. Large size is wider than standard,...
If you sew a mesh triangle, then flip up the bottom to form a pocket, it would work. Probably should make the mesh very stretchy, and have the outside edges of the pocket higher than the middle to...
I am the kind of person that needs to try everything out. A few weeks ago the temp got below 27*, I was just on the comfortable side using a 40* Enlightened Equipment under and a 15* Brooks Range...
Always been top heavy - my shoulder bones are really wide and my hips are non-existant. That would explain why I don't feel secure in a climbing harness though... 😁
Yea! I like that idea best.
I must have missed that video, gonna go find that now. Thanks!
My hips are not my COG, that part of the problem. I have a 30 waist and a 40 chest.... All upper body. Sucks buying clothes. 😁
That's a super easy fix. Thanks!
...or... Why are my feet up?
There is probably a thread already about this. But I cannot seem to find it! Anyway, I always seem to find myself scooted down in my hammock with my feet way up and...
Great work! I look forward to pictures of it up.
use the hang calculator referenced above. The discance you can hang will greatly depend on how high up the tree or how low you can get your hammock. I have successfully done 21 ft.
+1 again.
I love the clips along the long hems. I have been using blue painters tape. Not too good for waterproof fabrics.
Hang it on the outside, bear chimes. 😁

heh, you are both right!
The ridgeline is there to hold the proper slack in the hammock. The more your suspension is pushed out of perfect conditions the more the RL will take the forces. IF you...
Shug!!
I know you have a set of the new DutchWare beetle buckles. I just watched this video again and got an idea. I hope you can check this out for me as my beetle buckles have not shipped yet. ...
It looks like a great starter for people who would want to customize (buy dutch bling). Could use some tree huggers and some whoppie slings...lol I would get that for my kids if they already didnt...
Yup! That will always keep you safe.
I was trying an extra long hang when mine broke. Was attempting 25 ft spread.
I have actual marlin spikes. Made the spikes small enough to be the proper size for working with hammock size lines.

I am 175, and broke my reflect it RL when I had my suspension angles too shallow. As long as you are hitting the 30* you should be fine. Sampson amsteel has different properties, go to their...
I am about to place my order for some zing it. How does it behave for splicing compared to the 7/64 amsteel?
Nice work buddy! I do the same loop to my whoopies too, its a game changer!! I like the bits of plastic tube on the continuous loops.... how to they look with weight on them?
I just loosely collect mine up making sure the lines don't tangle too badly and jam it in a mesh pocket of my pack. It only gets a bag after fully drying at home.
So... I rigged my current tarp as best as I could figure. I am extremely attached to this tarp, mainly because it is also a 4 season ground tent. I think it would be fine in all but pretty bad...

Like that.
That is the primary use. It works very well when needing to join amsteel to amsteel. Granted, I am no pro, I have used it without any slippage.
Loop with a larks head. This is what it looks like with the 8" continuous loop from Dutch

That's strange. Any pictures?
Have you considered loosening the outer side of the UQ in order to let the stress point not compress as much?
I just learned the hard way... Not all hammocks are the same size and neither are the tarps. Really take a look as sizes before you buy.
ENO stuff is all set up for 9'6" hammocks.
Okay, will look into that more. Thanks!
Cool.
I am still looking into getting the grizzly beak and extending some how. Would not be too hard to sew a half yard piece of cuben to one side.
Tried putting up my tarp diagonal. Setting up that way has plenty of coverage for rain. How does having tarp on the diagonal affect wind/rain blowing inside. Seems very much more exposed. Also...
Just tried the super sag method, it would work, but you have to get the straps so high up the tree so your butt is off the ground, it is not practical. I also tried my small hammock again, just to...
That's great!
Attached to a Ridgeline above the tarp?
The ENO is 62" across the one I made is 58.5". I don't like how wide the ENO is, too much fabric flapping about. I usually ended up tying a knot in the extra to make like a knotty mod...lol
I will give it a go with the super sag. 😁
Most likely will stick with a short hammock than replace the tarp, been using the shorty ENO for quite a few years without issue. I made the 11er myself,...
Ends of the hammock. Was going to cuff the inboard side of the bag as a water break and tie the draw string off to the ridge line so it doesn't get out of alignment.
Dude! I love that! Going to get that no matter what. I hate when the wind shifts at night and I wake up in a wind tunnel...😁
I was thinking about that too. I have a 110" ridge line on it now. Do you think I can pull it in far enough? Speaking of far enough, how much under the tarp should the hammock ends be?
My old...
But my cuben cat cut tarp is not long enough! My old hammock fits fine, but then I tried an 11'er and fell in love. I don't know of a tried and true solve for this; it is 4" on both sides out of...
Waterman knot
I don't like to carry hiking poles, I do like to be able to pitch the tarp on the ground or use "porch mode" over the hammock. I bought carbon pole sections and made my own. Weigh 91 grams, take up...
Just watch all of Shug's YouTube videos. That's what I did...lol

And yes, if you want to use the chair separate from the hammock, you will need another suspension.

I don't understand the need to use the chair as a gear sling. I just clip my gear into the end of the suspension, under the tarp.
I also have an ENO, but I took out the stock ends. Continuous...
That is my exact concern. Only reason I think it may work is because the smaller side of the standard Dutch clip is not present on the adjustable version. The load bearing portion of the clip is...
Me too, because if there is no issues I can ditch a biner for that micro loop and larks head right to the hook.
