Whoever actually brought the parts and made the pole was pretty ingenius. I just tried to improve it a little. No I didnt catch anything. Only fished for about an hour and only had the small spoon...
Shug as soon as I get a knee brace like the one you wear, we will be heading back. Might be cooler temps in the summer up on the ridge somewhere. I think thats where we will be heading next.

Here is the rigged up hammock. He said it was ok to sleep in but man I couldnt do it.
Yes someone made it and left it there for others to use. I shaved the bark smooth so that the line wouldnt get caught every cast. I left it for someone else to use and make better hopefully. No luck...
I would love to purchase some for all of us. I will check with him sometime.
Three of my friends and I did a four day trip from Central Florida to Linville NC to the Linville gorge. We arrived on a Sunday and left on a Wednesday. If you can go during the week that is the best...
Probably so but my order still got here in only two weeks. He's probably slammed $$$
The Mamajamba is an awesome tarp. I just got mine in this week. Heading to the linville gorge in a couple weeks to try it out.
Got it in today...Awesome tarp. Very light and great stealthy color...
Ordered my Mamajamba tarp on March 25th and received my shipping notice this morning. Less than two weeks to ship...not bad. Thank you Brandon.
I wish I knew earlier...that an underquilt was the only way to go. After you get an UQ what a difference and what a good nights sleep. Thanks Hammockgear.
I was just reading this when UPS pulled up...very excited with a smile on my face! It was a delivery for my son. :(
Oh well it has only been 1.5 weeks since ordering and no notification yet either...
Twdant, the family and I are heading up there this weekend to see my in-laws. They live in Lincolnton only about 5 minutes from Grays creek ramp. I am hauling the kayak up there to fish all day and...
8 days so far... Im not worried, have heard alot of good things about Brandon and his workmanship. I now have a last minute overnight kayak trip planned next weekend. Would be nice to try it out on...
My next big trip (big for me) is still six weeks away so Im sure I have plenty of time.
I just have the smaller sized Protarp right now but am fixing to order either the Big Daddy or Mamajamba. Its just the afternoon storms here blow in quick and pour down hard. I dont want to get...
Yep I was thinking about Nikwax or ReviveX, I can get it locally i think. Probably dont need it but just dont want anything to happen to my UQ. I really love it.
Im fixing to order a Mamajamba Tarp. Any idea if there is a wait time or are these made and ready to ship?
I have an Incubator UQ from Hammock gear. Should I get some DWR spray and treat the outside of my UQ to protect it from some of these summer showers?
I thought really hard about the 40* Burrow...however I think it still may be too much??? Top cover is definitely different than bottom cover. I didnt know that. I just refused to sleep on a pad again...
Well I have now used my UQ for several months here in Florida. I gotta tell any of you that are thinking about getting one... DO IT !!! I can not tell you what a difference an UQ makes in getting a...
Yea may just get brown one. The brown color looks really nice and stealthy.
Just an observation / question...wonder if the repeating camo pattern would be more effective if the tarp was sewn with the fabric turned 90 degrees? The repeating pattern appears to be running...
I wouldnt call it too small. I have the protarp by Enos and it worked just fine all winter. Yes it may be a little heavier than some of the other brands but to answer his question I would definitely...
Anybody else have an opinion on either one of these two?
Thank you all for the info.
Their sight shows a camo option but no pic. Anyone know what pattern and does anyone have a picture they care to share?
Are they cut the same? Either better for using a full ridgeline?
Wilderness Logics Big Daddy and the Warbonnet Mamajamba.
Can of worms... It looks like same material and MJ is just slightly larger? Anything else? Im sure both are of good quality, any difference...
Keith I also have the protarp and will try your method the next time out. I currently use the hammock ridgeline to hang the tarp over and fold and roll it like it came.
I may just pull the trigger on a BB 1.7 DL. Wish I could get the 1.7 SL but being 6'3 and 255lbs...dont think it is wise to try the thinner SL.
Thank you all for the feedback... I have some...
Those are daytime temps. It is probably low to mid 70's at night. You know I saw a guy that was camping in central America somewhere and had a small fan hanging from his ridgeline and thought that...
Lol... your probably right Rachel...I was born and raised here so you think after 44 summers I would be used to it by now but there is just no getting used to 98 degrees with 90% humidity and no...
Any of you southern boys and girls out there camp in a WBBB in the summer?
I watched a youtube review of the WBBB and the one comment that got me thinking was how hot he felt inside the Blackbird. ...
Mike you are right and I really wasnt thinking of it that way.
I was debating on superfly vs mamajamba but for me I just dont foresee ever using the doors. Winters are not that harsh and I like...
I currently have a Enos DN with protarp. I live and camp mostly in Fla. all four seasons (well really there are only two seasons in fla). Im going to purchase the WBBB 1.7 and am thinking about the...
Greetings, Im getting a kayak this next week and would like to get some ideas for river or coastal trips that I can take with my buddies in our kayaks and hammocks. I have looked into the Ocklawaha...
Wow...im not trying to hijack your thread but I just asked the exact same question under the Warbonnet category. The only difference is I need one for kayak trips in summer in Central Florida....
Im hooked, no more ground pounding for me... This was my first winter camping in a hammock. I started out with the Enos double nest as my first hammock with the pro tarp. Very nice set up that I have...
Surprise Surprise Surprise, the mailman just pulled up with my underquilt. I guess I will be sleeping outside tonight. Hammockgear does include two #2 plastic biners of different colors (green &...
Shug your the man... thank you all for the replies. Heading from Florida to Linville gorge soon for an Incubator test hang. I gotta make a run for the hills.
I think im gonna have to clip the suspension onto the whoopie with something because I dont have a "knot" on the end like some gathered end hammocks. My whoopie is threaded thru the end channel of...
Stormcrow has informed me that my Incubator is in the mail. No more sleeping on a pad for me!!! My question is, I use #1 nite ize to attach my tarp to my ridgeline prussiks... are the #1's ok to use...
