This sounds like its gonna be a fun weekend. Unfortunately this is my weekend to work. I will try to get a day or two off. I'll keep you posted.
The voice of rational thinking.
But I don't want to get up!
The first picture is what I used after I asked an HD employee if he had anything better, he said no. This is labeled 3/8" but it's not.
The second picture is what I found at HD recently. Looks...
I'm sure we'll get to hang again. If I'm not working my regular shift one weekend, I'm working extra duty the next. Then there's my daughters girl scout troop stuff I help with.
You can always visit the ranger before the day of your hang and demonstrate the hammock hanging equipment. Then if things go wrong stealth hang.
Burn bans are for open fires. Small stoves for cooking are exempt. Of course use caution with any flames.
That's a tough one. Tell them first and take the chance of being asked to leave or stealth hang and take the chance of being caught and asked to leave.
It's true you might find that receptive...
Well it's just water resistant not water proof. So there should be some evaporation.
I picked up a different one from Kmart. It was taffeta nylon. $20 on sale.
Wish I could have made this one. I need more notice to schedule my work around it. Currently I'm working Friday and Saturday night 10pm-3am and Monday 5:30am-5:30pm. Next time. Well enjoy your hang. ...
I went to Lowes today also. My Lowes didn't have it either. Hopefully they get it soon. I keep checking and post it if I find it.
I already have one, got it for Christmas. This one's for da wifey. I need to tether a fly then she'd be set.
I thought I purchased 3/8" bolts looks like 1/4. Also, I didn't take into consideration the 1/2" drywall. The new bolts were screwed in till the curved section started distorting the drywall.
I'm...
I just mounted two utility hook bolts to the studs in my room (I getup hours before my wife so all my clothes and crap are in the spare bedroom.) I used a stud finder and made sure to screw it to the...
I'm interested if still available. Sending pm.

I want 'em. Thanks.
That looks cool. Having the family hanging together is nice. Many blessings to you and your family.
Welcome back. Hope to see you at some of the Florida hangs.
I went to the Hobie website and checked their online catalog, I couldn't find it.
That sound like a cool thing to do. One day I'll do that but it will not happen anytime soon since I live in Florida and dont have any plans for a trip up north.
sweet multi-use find. I'm gonna have to try and find one or make one. I'm not a gram weenie but what's it wiegh? dimensions?
I'm interested. sending PM.
I'll take the jet boil flash
That looks like a great idea but how much movement is transferred to the other hammock when one person moves?
I've changed under my tarp next to my hammock, no doors. no one trys to peek anyway they know I'm changing.
I have used two methods so far. First one is hang on a tree from a separate strap and toggle setup. Second was on the ground on a large plastic yard trash bag. Where I hang depends on where I hang...
You could also try using an A frame on one end for one of them and the other would be using two trees. I may try this with my daughter net time we go out.
Nice video. The 22 minutes went by fast. Editing not a big issue we can fast forward when needed. more lighting would be good. I learned a few tricks with your video. thanks
great video. I've made some stuff sacks before but I like the barretts idea thats much easier. Going to store now but I'll try and find some hopefully not pink. Thanks for taking the time on the...
So if the 17-18 is definite then I cant go. Enjoy the weekend I'll be working sounds like lots of fun.
I'll go if it's the weekend of the 10th. I have to work the other weekend.
first - my prayers are with you JaxHiker.
I had a great time even though I was only able to stay Saturday night. I won an alcohol stove which I gave away to the one young teen who out of the...
I had a blast even through the cold night. Now I know I can handle cold temps. I just wish I could have stayed longer but MLK day got in the way. My daughter is out from school and I have to watch...
Thanks Ray for the help with the photo's.
[Quote: I had that happen at dolly sods with a forum hang got woke up with a hell of a scream at 2 am was a pack a coyotes right across the creek from...
It was quite an experience and I will try it again. My hammock hang is two 4"x4"x10' posts with chamfered corners and a 1"x6"x16' brace across the top. I set the posts 2.5' into the ground and added...
My first hammock was a standard outdoor hammock from Kmart, no net. I laid in it diagonally and was real comfortable. I just got the WBBB which is cut for the diagonal lay, slept in it last night for...
Well I slept in my WBBB last night for the first time. This in only the fourth time sleeping in a hammock. I wanted to make sure I was ok for the hang in Ocala this weekend.
It was approximately...
I liked the video. I like the father/son time you got.
I have one daughter, she has a hammock now but hasn't used it on a trip yet. We're looking forward to our first hang together.
bumping this.
I would like it to be regional also. It would make searching for hangs in and near florida much easier. I dont know when I'll be heading to WA or CA, so I dont need to know about...
At least they offered to replace it and they were flippin' the bill for shipping. That means alot.
I am also looking forward on a report.

I got started about three months ago. a group of friends said you gotta try this its better than crack.
I got myself a Kmart outdoor Taffeta hammock, Eno bug net, Equanox tarp and started...
Welcome! from Oviedo.
I'm in n Merry Christmas to all.
I'll have to try it one day. It does drop to the 20 & 30 here in Florida. We just don't get the snow nor do we have the great elevation changes you have. one day, maybe one day.
Nice pics. nice spot with waterfall and all.
Looks cold, I'm glad I live in Florida, no snow. Not rubbing it in or anything like that. lol. But of course we dont have the beautiful mountains either.
