I love mine - even did a version of a double pole mod - works great with my JRB Bridge Hammock:

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I made a reservation and am heading up in a couple of weeks. Looks like a great spot with easy access to good fishing and hiking.

Thanks, I'll add it to the list of spots to try.. too many to choose from..

Hi,
Wondering if anyone has been to Sugarloaf I campground in NH?
Curious if the sites are good for hammocks and/or there are any restrictions I should know about.
Thanks,

GT Double is a channel end hammock, so you have lots of options if you want to re-do the suspension components.
There are many options out there and a lot of nice products from cottage vendors...
Q = Hammock Length
F = arccos ( (B/2) / (Q/2) )
I do the same thing with my Jarbridge and S-Biners on my BMBH-UL and it works great.

I think you figured it out by now, but I use the same type if setup described by Shane in the linked message - Im guessing this is where I originally saw it as well. I use the lineloc 3's.
Let us...
Add me to the list. I use linelocs which connect to tarp tie out points via a 5-6" loop of shock cord. Very easy to use and adjust from under the tarp, shock cord loops keep everything snugged down...
I can't help with material selection, but Quest outfitters sells angled fittings for most types of poles which may help - they are available in 90*, 125* and 145* angles. I used a pair of the 145*...
I have the Chinook 12x9.5 Guide Tarp, and noticed the tie out points aren't spaced evenly along the edge of the tarp. The two tie outs are 36" and 57" from their respective end of the tarp.
Does...
I actually added webbing to my tarp as well. For some reason one end didn't come with a grommet so I bulked up both ends just to be on the safe side. Now that you mentioned it I remember the stock...
I have that same tarp. I use a Dutch Fly on one end and Dutch hook spliced into the other end of my CRL. I use prussiks with mini carabiners to attach to zing it loops on either end of the tarp.

Agreed - description makes it sound a lot better than it is in hand. Pretty small, very thin, bleeds feathers like crazy. No way it could be used to 30*.

Not sure when you are planning on climbing, but you might want to double check before whether the Tuckermans trail is open. I believe it is closed right now due to snow/ice.
Boott Spurr up and...
Hard to tell from the picture, but did you fold the UQ along the width and not the length? If you fold it so it is longer and narrower, it might put the suspension point further away from your head....
I'll take it.. PM inbound.
That Timex was on my X-Mas list.. any reason why you are selling it?
Feel free to PM.

I bought that same blanket at a discount online. It is very narrow, has barely any loft and bleeds feathers. For the same $100 you can buy yourself a real UQ, I think you will be much happier in the...
Thanks!
Just completed the project, now have to give them a test out in the field.
If anyone else is thinking of doing the same here are the dimensions I used:
I started with a 470" section...
I'm sure I'm not re-inventing the wheel here, but had an idea to simplify my current suspension system on a JRB BMBH-UL. The stock suspension and tri-glides works fine as-is, but I have this hank of...
Figure out how wide you want the UQ to be and add an inch or two to the width "just in case". If you aren't sure, look at the measurements of other UQs that are known to fit your hammock well.

I recently sold a similar unit - I don't think it will be a problem to re-register the unit, just call up NOAA and speak to them directly. When the new owner registered it, they simply called to...
I'm pretty sure the hammock calculator calcs are based on the assumption of a triangle shape, from the hang point through the suspension to the mid-point of the hammock pulled to a point at the sit...
If you are hanging from a height of 154cm and the center of your hammock is 189cm from the hang point, wouldn't you be hanging at around a 40* angle?
tan x = 154/189
x = 39.17*
Are you using a ridge-line?

Am I correct to assume that the only thing the length of the amsteel between the spreader and the rings will affect is the compression force on the spreader?
Someone above mentioned the need to...
I'd be willing to test it if you need help.
I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1..
I have two GT hammocks: a single and a double.. both have home made whoopie slings with Dutch elephant trunks...
Awesome, thanks for the chance!
Awesome! I'm in. Thanks.
