How much do they weigh?
How much did the Operator go for? And was it a sewn or snap foot box?
How much does it weigh?
From previous thread, I believe stated weight was 27 oz.
UGQ lists the 20° in 83" length with 950FP at 22.80 oz, plus 1.35 oz for HD1.0 outer, plus 3 oz overfill, should be total 27.15 oz.
I think you misunderstood what I meant. It's not that the higher fill power down has more or less ability to compress or recover, but simply that the effects of a deterioration of the down item's...
Yes, by the nature of it. The potential negative consequence of extended compression is loss of loft. The loft of down is correlated to the fill power.
Sorry to be a buzzkill, but if you don't want to risk deletion, you probably ought to take a couple items off this listing and wait until you wrap up some sales to list more items.
See Rule #3:...
800+ FP down is going to be more susceptible to the effects of compression. That said, compressing any down item for a day or two isn't going to hurt anything.
I agree and would say, in that scenario, you probably need a bigger bag.
I wouldn't take that quote from WM as an endorsement for long term compression, but more of a reassurance that if you accidentally store a bag compressed, all is not lost.
Even if you have a high...
Becket Hitch always works fine for me :thumbup1:
In my experience, as long as you're only compressing it for near term use, you don't have much to worry about. Especially if you are not compressing the quilt in a sack and just pushing it down in...
Maybe it's not that the Incubator can't "fit" but if they use the Phoenix instead, then they can still have that extra space for extra clothes, food, etc. like you said.
I'll take it
That's perfect. Awesome, Harry!
Thanks for the follow up, Randy. (Sorry I missed it before!)
Yeah, I'm definitely not interested in replacing the zippers!!!
1. Really depends on the circumstance. If I'm camping in my backyard, I'll take the Incubator every time, just because it's more comfortable to have full coverage.
2. I have both full and 3/4 UQs....
I'll take the Incubator 20.
Working ok for me now, too. I guess, never mind...
Looking at down quilts on the new site. There is an option to select Down Fill Power, either 850 or 950.
However, selecting it doesn't seem to change the weight calculation. Does this mean that...
I believe the difference is in the weight capacity for the bar. The .582 bars only support up to max 350 lbs. If you and your partner add up to something close to or beyond that, you should probably...
This would be my approach. In addition to spider/poly straps with the beetles, I'll bring along an extra set of spiderweb 1.5 straps. They weight almost nothing, take up almost no space, and allow me...
Seems like if it's so close you can't shorten the whoopie enough, then it's just too close. I'd think that situation'd be less likely than the other way around.
Why not just swap your continuous loops for the whoopies and have that extended range from the start?
Having trouble finding specs on the new site. Look at the Incubator: http://www.hammockgear.com/premium-incubator/
Didn't there used to be a chart detailing specific measurements for each size?
A lot of folks pick up the large version at 25" wide for this reason, and then cut 'em short for weight savings.

Fair point...
This sounds like the correct approach
Sure, probably sell it. But I generally like it, just doesn't get much use since it's a little extra to tote compared to alternatives.
Sounds like you think zipper modification in general is a...
I have a DangerBird with both net and top cover. Realizing that they are not removable, I'm kind of wishing they were removable.
I am thinking if I sort of spliced in appropriate stoppers and...
I have a 20° Operator Series Ghost Pepper topquilt. I love it. I think the "baffled chevron" design works very well. This isn't necessarily specific to Loco Libre, but the snaps and drawcord footbox...
This is a first for Dutch to put out these products using DCF, I think? Are there plans for doing a version with doors?
Has anyone picked one of these up, yet? I have a couple HG DCF tarps and I'm...
I find that Beetle Buckles work just fine in the winter in gloved hands. I prefer to keep continuous loops on my hammocks this way. Gives you the easier gloved adjustability of the cinch buckles but...
Silk doesn't lose insulating value underneath you the way down does when compressed. So the demand for a quilt shaped liner is probably not that great.
I can imagine the quilt shaped liner is much...
I have a Loco Libre Operator which has no zipper. It has snaps instead which lets you use it as just like a down blanket, if you want. It clocks in lighter and cheaper than the HG Burrow Premium....
