Yup. I'd love to find a hard nylon or poly sleeve that could be glued, but no luck yet.

I posted it to kamileon's thread. So far 1 wrap of duct tape and 1 1/4 heat shrink tube has worked the best for me. There is still a little wiggle room, but it doesn't give any resistance taking it...
So, here is what is a bit frustrating with buying stuff like this online. It's very difficult to tell exactly what you are going to get. The first time I ordered 1 1/4 in and it was still a big...
I found this 2in shrink tube works pretty well to fill the gap between 3/4 and 1in EMT

That's what I was thinking Atrane
Yup, that works as long as the trees are nicely spaced. The proposed works better when there are longer spans between trees.
Remember the 'Tree-O' strap set-up that was proto-typed a few years ago? It let you strap 3 trees together, and you could hang your hammocks on the straps. What was promising was that you could...
Clark just launched their Double V, which is essentially the Vertex without all the top tent mumbo jumbo. I think it's $189. Still pretty costly, but a lot less than the Vertex. I'm thinking throw...
Thanks HammockCanoe!
+1 on this. Also, the mule tape snagged so easily, it always made me worry about it. I felt like if I had a hang nail it would snag the mule tape. Now it's just 12 ft Kevlar straps becket hitched...
I've got a DYI 11' hammock that I have in a bishop bag. I'd like to have a Fronkey bugnet that I can keep stuffed in the bishop bag. Then when I want to use it, one side (where the suspension would...
I've never been out there. So is there no filterable water on the trail or at sites?
If you are going to go that light, take a look at Dutch's Hexon 1.0. It will be at least as strong and less stretch.
Interested in seeing your design. Any pics yet?
Looking forward to my first group hang..... Which I found out the hard way to be cautious of your audience when you tell them you are going to a "group hang".
If anyone's interested, I'll be...
[QUOTE=SilvrSurfr;1522064]I've found that my HG Winter Palace (with CF snakeskins) does not pack down as well as a silnylon tarp, but hey: the HG Winter Palace is 8.6 ounces so it's kind of...
Site is saying all 11fters are out of stock. Is this correct or error?
We used 60"x126" Crinkle Taffeta. which makes a 10 foot hammock. It was a plenty big enough for both of the boys who are 5'6" and 5'10"
Not sure of the weight, but the hammock with bugnet was...
My 3 sons were getting tired of sleeping on a bumpy sloped ground so they wanted to try sleeping in a hammock. Sounded awesome till I thought about the cost :scared:
I decided to make it a learning...
Nice! I have 3 sons who are eyeing my JRB down uq. This is the motivation I needed to help them make their own uq's.
+1 on the Wally blue tarp. While your there, pick up some foam earplugs and you won't need to worry about the noise.:shades:
Hey mentatix, I'm planning on bringing my 4 boys. (16,16,14,8). Currently hoping none of them will whig out on me.
Me and the older boys just made some tablecloth hammocks for them, and my youngest...
Looks great! Is it open between the 2 layers so you could put additional insulation if needed?
I've got a shade canopy with the detachable bugnet. I'll usually put it over the picnic table and works pretty well. Let me know if you want me to bring either or both...
Thanks for the offer of the Clark. That's mighty brave of you to offer a teenager to use it :scared:
I think i'm going to use this as a learning opportunity and we are going to DIY some hammocks...
I think you'll like it geneaut. I switched to a becket hitch using mule tape, and it's quicker than a msh. I havn't tried Kevlar yet. I'd like to know how it works for you if you try it.
I forget what the question was, but I know the answer is Dutch.
I've used a fronkey style before and had no problems. Now that I live in TX and have felt the unpleasant aftermath of a spider bite (not while sleeping in a hammock), I do think about it more. ...
John B, I was talking to my 4 sons, 16, 16, 14, 8 yr olds, and they said they want to come too. Any problem with some extra testosterone tagging along?
Now I've got to find 3 extra netted hammocks...
I have 3 teenage sons who, after trying my hammock, now want to try hanging with me. I don't want to spend a bunch of cash and have them not want to use it again. I've looked at ebay/amazon and...
I may be going out of town for work that weekend, but if not I'll join.
I want! I want!
Also, check out Cross Timbers trail
Its right on Lake Texoma (TX side). Texas Hiking has it's difficulty rated at 3.3 out of 5. It's the most challenging hike I have found ANYWHERE near here. ...
I'd love to join y'all on one of these wilderness ministries. Do you ever get a little closer to Dallas? Houston is a little farther than I like to go for an overnighter.
Um..... Wow! This is great. Thanks for putting this together.
Could you add the Kelty tarps when you get a change? Interested in how they compare.
Single or Double?
Whoopie or cinch?
Looks Great. Now I've got another toy to save up for.
I was just in Xtimbers in late may. I found plenty of places to hang even with my little Hennessey straps. Have fun going up Monkey's Butt Hill
how....wh...but...what happened. Is there a forum for us slowers people? How do you see these so quickly???
Missed it again. Dagnabbit!
I have the JRB Nest used with a HH Exped dlx. and I love it. Very compact, very easy to use. The first time I put it on the hammock was in the middle of the night. I didn't think I was going to get...
Looking forward to my first group hang! And I get to go on my birthday 11/7! Hopefully I can get my 3 teenage sons to go with me too.
Just an FYI, I was able to buy these poles locally in the DFW area. Omaha's surplus http://www.omahas.com/ has them in stock. I picked up 15 of them plus an almost new bag for $85. They are more...
Looks nice, Dutch! Do these have comp weight restrictions to your dutch clips?
Thanks for the review. I currently use a HH with a JRB uq, and I always wondered why no one is making a hammock with built in uq. I didn't know these guys existed. Not sure if i'm ready to switch...
I'll be looking forward to getting a set of these when available Dutch.
In the mean time, praying for you and Dutch Dutch friends / family on the loss of your friend Keith.
Awesome! looks like a great place to camp. I have the Exp Dlx and love it. Cant see going back to the ground. May you and your son have many years hanging out together!
I like my Snugpak2. I usually just have it covering me like a TQ, but If I don't want any draft I'll climb inside. With my SP2 and my JrB nest uq, im quite comfy down into the upper 30s.
Tried my new Nest UQ for the first time this weekend, and I'll never go back to fighting with a pad inside my hammock again! It was very warm during the day and I didn't think I'd get a chance to...
I just went to Cross Timbers this past weekend. Great trail, and not very busy. Right on the lake and it only takes about 1hr to get there. Many places to hang.

Took my three sons on their first real backpacking trip this weekend. We started from Juniper point and parked right at the trailhead. We got there about...
