Dutch, I did not have any problems with it slipping. Do I have it threaded wrong? I was in a hurry and was trying to go from memory on the original fly I have from you.
The updates include:
I added a new piece of rebar about 3" long at the top of the upright. So now I have 2, about 4" apart. The lower one is for the whoopies and the ridgeline, the upper is...
It didn't stop it from sinking. But after 1 night it sank as far as it was going to. I tightened the straps and after another night of sleeping, the straps were stilll tight. I'll get some more pics,...
I was reading Alamosa thread on his stand and thought I would update this one. I made new anchors, 24" rebar with a piece of 2" welded on the top, think T shape. And I switched to ratchet straps....
That's why I placed them like that, to load the 2x4s and not so much my anchors. I think its simple, and it works.
Ohh and I forgot, in the first post, I listed a 10" piece of rebar but no use. I used that to "screw" the anchors in the ground.
I use the truckers hitch and can pull it down real tight. I was suprised at how tight. And yes, you can see my Kelty 9 hanging on it. Just to make sure that I didn't have any "slack" in the tarp...
Yes, tried to slip a 2x4 in and it fit, no problem. Was thinking about using a metal pole, but no sure what would work, without bending.
I think they will, but will have to try it.
Don't know why my first 2 pics didn't come through, so I'll try again.
