It has taken me a while to figure out what works for me. As others have said, watch your wallet!

I buy used stuff as well. I don't ever worry about items cleanliness. The first thing I always do after inspection is to clean the item.

I have a Luke's Ultralite Crazy Warm Down Hood. I like it but I don't use it too often because most times I don't need it. I am a warm sleeper and it is "Crazy Warm".

I think of it as this way. You want your insulation close to your body. The HH tie-outs are loose enough on mine to go above the quilt. The quilt ends up pretty snug to myself.

The tie outs help to hold the hammock open and also stop the swaying back and forth. I use the tie outs with my Hammock Gear Incubator and don't feel that they affect the performance at all.

Mine are stored in a large laundry bag. It allows them to loft up and stay clean.

First time in the hammock, you will need to figure out what works for you. Foot end a title seems to work for most. Move around until you are able to lie flat.

I think a 20* under quilt is a good for a large variety of temps. What is the lowest temps that you think you will hang in?

Fleece blanket is what I use to lounge or sleep around the house. I don't sleep in it every night though.

Nice, I have spent months traveling for remote projects and living in a hotel room. No matter how nice the room is, it gets old quick. Its great that you are making the most of it.

I used one complete in my hammock. It was bulky and a little tough to get into but was good once I was in.

I have all of my quilt in large laundry bags and have the bags hanging on an free standing old coat rack in the spare room. The coat rack has enough pegs to store eight bags on it. Works pretty good.

I am going to try a super shelter with a 20 degree underquilt to see what the bottom end of temperatures I can go this winter.

All of my new down filled quilts had a light smell when new. The older quilts have no smell and the newest only smell lightly.

I have a Hennessy Hammock Hyperlite that weighs 1 lb 3 oz. with all suspension. I also have a Cuben Fiber tarp that weighs 8 oz with all guyouts and ridge line. This set up is under two pounds.

It looks like your top bar is a two piece. What is holding this together?

I don't think the plastic hardware is a concern. I did away with the Hennessy tarp. Rain always seems to come in sideways where I am. I also like the continuous ridgeline which allows you to set up...

I'm with Batmanatee, I use the same set-up. Quick and simple.

I made my own whoopie slings out of lash-it for some of my tarp guylines. I use lash-it with prussics for some as well but have been thinking of going some 1.25mm Z-line and line locs.

Don't bash me but I have 3/8" screw eyes installed in one of my rooms of my house. I set the hammock there once in a while just to hang.

I have a Wilderness Logic's Summer Series - It is a great quilt and plenty warm for me in the summer.

Wind seems to be one of the biggest obstacles that a hammock hanger faces in staying warm.

I have 2.2mm lash it for the tarp ridgeline.
