Don't forget about bog iron and glass.
Agreed. I'm sure I've seen "Experimental Field" on a map but I've checked all the maps I have and it's not there anymore. Strange.
I like my UQP because it keeps the warmth in my quilt when the wind gets in as it always does.
Nice Pics RD!
Does anyone know what experiments were conducted in the experimental field?
Trip report? Anyone show up? My skiing plans changed and I was in Vermont enjoying the gifts of winter,.
I'm unsure as well. I was at the bridge once a couple years ago on the river. All my hikes have been around it - not hard to avoid.
Is the old bridge still there on the side of the river?
That was not me. I did, however, enjoy (and encourage) watching that big red boat climb a tree.
Site 3 booked for 2/2.
Thanks for the TR! I've ben otherwise occupied for a while and have missed the fellowship in the pines. Happy to hear it was a good trip, I'd have enjoyed it. Sounds like a lost swimmer's PFD award...
Trip report?
Anyone?
I was at Bodine Field last weekend - Beautiful weather, great paddle on the Wading, many ticks. Spray your gear. Have a great time, eat lots of SilvrSurfrSald! :)
I start many July-August nights in New Jersey miserably hot with my UQ pushed completely to the side. I have never made it through a night without waking up cold and pulling it under me.
I'd love to, but, I won't be near.
Bummin'.
Kinda'
FWIW Scouts BSA units do a lot of (exclusively) sober camping and trekking.
That is beautiful country. Thanks for the report and pics.
Welcome from Union County.
Photo please?
You can paddle the Mullica from Atsion to Pleasant Mills in one day but it would be a very long day.
I wish Carver had never shown me The Weave.
Oh, wait, a day late...
That was not SS's fault! That boat was having some sort of spell.
Thanks Carver! Your videos make my lunchtime so much better!
I mostly hang out in jeans and a polo shirt - Rugby shirt if its chilly.
Mmmmmm!
I use a Klymit Pillow X Ultralight inflatable. The top and bottom are bonded in an X and the X cradles my head and supports my neck. I put a couple breaths in it then tuck it under my neck all the...
That's how we removed the 4' steel nails we drove in 40" at the party tent company where I worked summers during college. It did help that we used a 20lb sledgehammer.
Sounds like that could work. I haven't had the honor of meeting your better half - but if she's able to hop out of the boat and drag it a bit, I think you'll be good.
Welcome! (from my office in NYC).
I have a Klymit Pillow-X Ultralight. It's small, light, and bonded corner to corner. Makes a perfect cradle for my head in the hammock while supporting my neck - but I have to fill it then let air...
I paddled the Mullica last spring in the front of electbc's 18' boat (trip report here). The river was tight for that vessel - and for the ocean kayak another paddler brought. NJRedneck was able to...
A flat tarp is one laid on the ground and smoothed out so there's no folds or wrinkles.:D
Thanks Carver, you made my lunchtime 100% better.
Get well soon George, I look forward to seeing you again. Maybe some hiking in the flat sugar sand will help you get back.
Sourced.

Bacon!
Swear word. Swear word. Swear word-swear word-swear word-swear word. Swear word; Swear word!
Dang!
You know she right
Not an accidental omission.
Nope, adjust your theoretical understanding to account for your empirical findings.
Please don't sweat SS's tone, he's a crusty curmudgeon and can come off a bit prickly. FWIW, he is trying to help.
I think you and I are probably similar in approach - my golfing buddy calls it...
I 'biner it to the head end suspension of my WB-XLC 'cause the hammock pull-outs encourage a foot end approach under the tarp.
@cmoulder, I'm curious; how do you cut / finish your SF tubing?
As the bridge requires two spreader bars, you can readily size them to pack into three equal length pieces split once at about a thrid of the length.
You'll need:
Long Pole length, Short Pole...
+1 for the big Sterilite bins. I dry all gear hanging in the basement with the dehumidifier running before I store it.
Maybe a lighter held close enough to melt the frill? Whipped and fused.
Pretty country, thanks!
That sucks OneClick, sorry. Fight for your young'n, you may not be forgiven you if you don't. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and you'll find yourself where you want to be.
A = 4 * pi * 0.5yd^2 = 4 * pi * 0.25sqyd = pi sqyd
3.1416 sqyd * 0.5 oz / sqyd = 1.5708 oz + 0.5 oz valve = 2.0708 oz per beach ball = 4.1416 oz per pair
Math confirmed.
When I first saw this thread my thought was "Beach ball!"; Phantom's idea of football makes even more sense to me.
Dang Dutch!
Getting older is way better than not!
I agree with many that your setup dosen't look right. The wookie should cover your entire hammock - the blue feet to the left of the wookie have no insulation at all. I would definitely hang the foot...
I had to Google it - funny :).
