I can be there at any time Saturday. I am looking forward to this it will be my first January camping trip. The weather should make for a good trip.
Night in the woods in a hammock, sounds good to me. I can't make it Friday night but should be able to make it Saturday. Staying at the trail head or down on the trail somewhere?
I like warm hats I might have to give this one a try.
From what I have read the trail is only open during daylight hours, so no over night camping on the trail. But it might be worth a call to find out for sure.
This forum is the reason I got into hammocks, friendly and helpful. I don't post much but read and learn a lot. Just wish I lived closer to good backpacking trails. A good friend of mine is a...
I put whoopies on my Expedition and it has been great, recommend everyone does it.
Life got in the way not going to make it.
I need a break so I will be there. test out my Nest under quilt.
Football season will be over so I should be able to attend.
Tree straps and whoopie slings.
Wish I could make it, post some pics.
I had to watch the video twice, his friends watched him sleep walk off the cliff...Why did they just watch? Maybe time to get new camping friends. Or am I alone in these thoughts?
+1 on whoopie slings, they eliminate tying knots and are fast to set up. I hang my tarp separate if I need it higher off my hammock for better air flow in warm weather or lower it in winter.
Got my whoopie kit today. Got it installed on my Hennessey Expidition ran out back and hung it up. Whoopies are the only way I will hang my hammock, quick and easy.
As soon as the college football season.is over I will be ready for a cold weather hang.
Tired of making knots, ordered a whoopie sling kit.
I will be stopping in to say hello.
Wish I could make this but just not going to happen. I just got a JRB Nest so I plan to hang this winter, after the NCAA football season ends.
Welcome to the forums.
My Nest arrived today, great service.
My Nest just got here, supposed to have record lows Sunday - Tuesday low 50's. Time to sleep in the back yard.
This sounds like a great time but no chance I can make it. Lobster.....not very many of them in Kansas.
I ordered a Nest today around 8:40 am, at 8:48 I got email conformation twenty minutes later I got tracking info. Outstanding, I can not wait for cooler weather.
All these post about warm weather hanging and all I can think about is winter hanging. So I just ordered a Jacks r Better Nest. As soon as it gets here bring on the frost.
:):)
A down under quilt. I want to hang this winter and not get cold. I am tired of my ccf pad.
No idea what I will be doing in August yet but if I am in town I will stop by.
Welcome from Olathe Ks. Where in Co are you going fishing?
Just stay on 265/165 drive past main gate to State Park Marina road, it will next right you come to traveling away from the dam. To many late shows in Branson to lock it up, plus people going in and...
At the state park only the main gate closes. There is a secondary access gate that stays open 24/7, I know because it is the gate I use in the fall when I fish Taneycomo at night. But I have never...
I knowing toss and turn a lot at times but I have never accomplished turning my HH over in my sleep.
Congratulations on the building.
We are going to visit my wife's family this weekend and I always have a hard time sleeping there. Just asked my wife if I could just take my hammock and she can drop me off at the state park about 2...

I hate to say it I am not going to make it out. My truck has decided to change my plans. Post some pictures.
Very simple. I am switching from synthetic to down. Save space and weight.
Mine just got here. Very big tarp can not wait to use it. Thanks again CJPepa.
Kayak/canoe, fly fish, hang. I am wanting to spend a few days working my way around a local lake.
I am looking for a deal. As a parent with a kid in college and another in high school I have learned to adapt.
This purchase is going to be all about saving weight and space in my pack. Chriss might have an idea. She spends a fair amount of money following our son around playing football and tailgating for...
Just used my wife's baking scale to get accurate weight of my sleeping bag. Then compared that to a full down quilt set, I will easily save more than 2 pounds. Now how to convince my wife I need to...
Welcome to the forum and THANK YOU for your service.
