I would tape...plus the tape is good for other stuff too. I think my roll was 9 bucks at the depot.

Sorry I sent that last post from my phone. I am using some dye I use for leatherworking. Its a dark brown and appears to be working great. It doesnt dry dark brown, but its not glaring white...

It was polyester strap...not sure what it was rated at. Strange thing is a friend of mine has the same strap. He is 50 pounds heavier than me and hasnt had a problem. It was my first hang with it...

Yep ridgeline is 14 feet. From the center of the ridgeline to the tip of the side is 7 feet.
