I noticed that the spreader bars JRB sells claim to be 8oz. Anyone know the width of them? I couldnt find specifics. A little pricey at $17 if you ask me but maybe worth it if I can save 6-7 oz.

Yeah, I could shorten quite a bit. This one is 9'6" to the tips. I'm 5'9". My foot is at the very end in the picks. I love it though. Hope it holds up with my bad seam job. Thinking of getting...
Here's my second attempt. Only single layer though. With 6' whoopies and 12' straps it weighs in at 14.7 ounces. My spreader bars are heavy at 14 ounces. They are scavenged from an old pole tent. I...
+1 on DIY Gear Supply... -1 from my wife due to me taking over the dinning room when I receive my order! To date it's been an IX underquilt, tarp, and backpack from 3 separate orders. All were...
Count me in please!
Just picked up 3 of these. I can't believe the price considering my wife just bought me one almost identical from SA for well over $100. I'm debating ripping them up for an UQ. Will have to see...
Sorry for the mixup Wilderness.. I just completed this design. I put the cat cut on the line drawn from the 25 and 22 inch marks. I made it out of taslite (the 1.97 yd WW ACU.camo fabric) so its...
I know this is kind of an old thread but I'm about to embark on making a bridge hammock using this design. I am a stomach sleeper and after several nights in several different gathered end...
Nice gift. Congrats wolf.
I'm in, although I've never won anything in my life...:-)
Im in, if not to late..
Made an 11'x58" gathered end out of this today. Seems really strong but really needs the knotty mod. Total weight with 6' whoopies, 10' adjustable 7/64 amsteel RL, and an oxford nylon stuff sack is...
Am looking to make a DL hammock and was looking at this fabric as well. I can't find the weight for this stuff anywhere. The price is great but if its heavy its wasted money. Anyone find the specs...
I watched some of your other videos.. now I'm hungry! Thanks for sharing!
Yeah, the perforation of the pocket was my concern. Think ill save up and make an underquilt! :)
Thanks for the info. I can't wait to get started making the asym. I have a chinook tarp which works great, just looking to go lighter.
I just did an overnight on top of Springer on the AT (man was it windy that night) and I woke up around 3am with my pad hanging out of the hammock on the foot end. I have a WW ccf pad tapered with a...
WVbackpacker, did you make that asym tarp using the dimensions from DIY Gear Supply or did you do use custom dimensions? I just ordered the materials to make an asym tarp and am not sure which...
Just got my chinook 12'x9.6' tarp and did a test hang. I thought that the 1.2 tech line from diy gear would be a good ridge line but I'm having issues getting prusik knots to stay tight. I've...
Hi, just wanted to say thanks for all of the excellent information this forum provides. I recently had an idea to hike some of the AT here in Georgia and was looking for a lightweight tent. No way I...
