It's not open to the public right now.
After some really steep hikes, a few started asking questions about going lighter.
Awesome! Great photos.
My buddies and I went on a weekend trip to Henry W. Coe State Park just west of Morgan Hill, CA. A lot of swimming, a lot of hiking, and a lot of relaxation.
I just hung at Henry W. Coe and had no issues. I talked to a Ranger who had no problem with my set up.
To be honest, the parks are so understaffed that you probably won't even get hassled.
Hello and welcome from the Bay Area!
Welcome to California!
I live in San Leandro(just south of Oakland). I don't have much time this summer but if something comes up, I'll keep you in mind. I am always looking to new hiking buddies.
Hello from the Bay Area.
I'm up in the East Bay
Hello from the East Bay!
Hit me up if you need some ideas of places to hang in the East Bay.

I'm very glad to see more California hangers. Welcome!
I hang all around the Bay Area and use a Lafuma Extreme 600 as my 3 season and am very comfortable. It's rated as 45dF but I've had it down to 35 and was still comfortable. I do sleep EXTREMELY warm...
I am in San Leandro. I've got a HH and love it. I didn't know Big Basin prohibited hammocks either. EBRPD has no problems with them, and Henry Coe allows them also.
I'm originally from Sacramento but now live in the Bay Area. There are some pretty nice places up I-80 to go.
I'll start adding as many as I know.
(I hate the 10 char. minimum, I only wanted to post "This." eh)
I'm now accepting PayPal "donations."
I have it but have been very busy with school and work. I'll have it sent out no later than Monday. Let me figure out who is next...
Oh perfect. That'll make it easy.
I'm next! Yay!
Is there a list of people who want to do this?

I'll take it!
Here is what it looks like.
I have a purple one and its pretty masculine for purple.
Hello from Hayward
Where I ended up taking my day hike was almost completely covered in trees; and when I was down by the streams, it was quite pleasant.
I've been to Penner Lake before, it's pretty nice up there.
If only I was a few inches shorter, this would match my UQ.
I'm in. Let's do this!
Yes, you are correct.
This is very important, I found out the hard way while hanging over a slab of concrete. Good thing I was only about 6 inches up.
My sleeping bag doesn't unzip completely as in it doesn't fold open to a rectangle. I unzip it as far as it will go and then use it like a blanket with my feet inside the "foot box" so it doesn't...
So I got held up by the girlfrend and didn't get there until 4, only to find out I went to the WRONG gate! I didn't bother looking up directions before I left, and depended on my phone to get me...
I've been thinking about the race, I might just wait it out and show up after its over so I don't have to worry about the runners.
I'll be looking for hammocks
I will be going. Sat-Sun
Just weighed my pack w/o food a H2o, 6.53lbs :)
A larger tarp seems much easier.
Gibson Pond it is! I'll be there in the early morning.
I'm going to be a trip to Yosemite and Sequoia. I'll keep you posted with details.
Isn't that where everyone is going to be? If not, I'll meet up where everyone is.
I'm seeing it for $49
still a $21 savings.
I live in the Bay Area and I have found plenty of places to hang.
I'll be parked absolutely no later than 5:30 to ensure I get a spot. I guess I'll plan on meeting up at Fish Pond?
I'll be pretty easy to spot. I'll have a bright yellow pack.
Just got my Summer UQ in the mail. It's awesome! Great craftsmanship.
Thank you Te-Wa
Turns out I double booked Friday night. I will still be there Sat-Sun.
I'm very excited to get my UQ
I have no idea what time I'll be off work. I think it will be easier if I just drove myself instead of someone relying on me for a ride there.
Just over a week away!
Sounds good, I'll buy it.
Quoted for accuracy.
Me! Hayward, CA 94541
I still want one.
