After 3 long weeks, my blackbird, yeti, and superfly arrived and I took 'em out for a spin today. Thought you all'd enjoy some pics:

Temp was about 45*...
straight from brandon's mouth (fingers?) just yesterday:

this is very disconcerting and makes me regret my decision to go with the XLC for my first hammock. it is a big chunk of money to spend on something i need to be extra careful with and the wrong move...
i am new to camping/hammocks but have decided to go blackbird for my first setup.
currently am 5'-11" / 205lbs
would a 1.1 double layer xlc (net only) be a good one to start with or should i go...
can anyone confirm their is no issue using the Mamajama tarp with the new XLC length?
