It was a lot of fun, I was surprised how fun it was...
If we want to do a potluck dinner, my bro-in-law and I can do some dutch oven potatoes and carrots. There should be enough for about ten or so.
I'm planning on leaving Friday morning, I should make the campsite by early afternoon. I think it would be cool to do a potluck night, I can see if I can't round up something fairly edible to share....
I'm great with a hike, but I'm probably coming on my bike, so I would like a paved road to the trailhead.
I'll be out of cell service most of the weekend, but I'm pretty easy going with whatever...
Well I'm in, I took Friday the 7th off, and can stay through Sunday. I might even get my bro-in-law to tag along.
I'm still game, but to be honest I don't want to be a third wheel to you two. Didn't we have a big group ready to go?
I've wondered about having to go to ground camping in Utah, but I've got a little more hope after seeing this. Thanks for sharing!
I'll take the smart wool.
That looks like an incredible hike! I've been to the canyon a couple of times, but only to sight see from the rim. This is now on my list.
Or, group ride to the group hang. I'd be down with that.
I have two Jarbidges, on in apex, one standard. There isn't a lot of difference as far as packability, but the apex is noticeably warmer. With the upgrade being half off, I would say go for it.
I'm in for the 7th, and possibly a bro-in-law.
Ya, my back and butt were warm, just my two big toes were cold. I've never done any winter camping, so I'd like to know that I can stay warm and comfortable before heading out. I'll do some more...
I'm laying in the blackbird now. Maybe its because I'm 6'2", but I really am only comfortable the "right" direction. Granted, I have a lot of stuff in the shelf, but it is staked out. I just don't...
The fabric I bought was regular price $7.99 a yard. 50% off would have been 3.99. It was on sale for 5.99, and with the 20% off came up to 4.79 a yard. Close enough for me that I bought a few...
I was all fired up to order the New River, and then I saw the weight. I didn't like the idea of packing the New River in the summer when my daughter is using the Jarbidge. So I ordered the Jarbidge...
I got the blue ripstop.:)
+1, I already scheduled the 7th off before any one else asked for it.
Thanks! I think the gal at the cutting table was a little surprised when I started moaning after she happily told me that the ripstop was on sale. Luckily with the 20% off it came in close to the...
+1 that would be the best weekend for me in June.
This would work for me, I can usually swing a Friday off, but much more than that gets tricky.
Early June could work for me. What kind of duration are we talking, a weekend or longer? I would be coming from Ogden as well, and wouldn't mind carpooling.
Have you tried this with your UQ? The last time I was in my WBBB I put a 3/8" pad (walmart ccf) in the dual layer, and my jarbidge underneath. The 3/8" seemed to conform around me enough to allow...
For those that lay lefty in a righty, or vice versa, do you seem cramped against the shelf at all? I'm planning on setting mine up this weekend, so I'll give it a shot, but I'm curious on the...
Thanks Paul, just the incentive I needed to place my order.:)
Awesome! I guess you'll be the one to post the side by side photo. Did you go with the standard or the apex insulation? Regular or long?
Thanks.
I've never been interested in winter camping until recently myself. I blame Shug. Somehow he makes it look fun and comfortable to be hanging out at below zero.
Perfect! It's on my wish list, but I probably won't be able to talk the wife into it until my birthday.
Excellent point, dust is my number one allergen, and dander can be up there depending...
What I'm hoping
is that with the apex it would be maybe 10-25% bigger, is that a realistic expectation? If it's twice as big packed down I need to rethink it.
I'd love some booties, but I...
Sounds great! I could swing early to mid-June, I have Scout camp the last week of the month.
Another hello from Northern Utah.
Is there a nice way to say that I think this sounds like a great idea but I don't want to organize it?
I got my first UQ last week, the Jarbidge, and I love it, but it's got me thinking about the next one. I had to try it out the day it came, and I did in my back yard.
...
I'll take it.
