We use approx 8 per inch on most things.
We do tend to make our stuff sack a bit loose and often the hammock can be further compressed to almost half it's packed volume. Loose stuff sacks allows you to better fill every little nook and...
I really like this fabric, but we don't use as much of it now that we have the newer HyperD fabrics.
It's labeled as a Poly/Nylon Blend from my supplier and has a brushed, soft finish...
A little loose works just fine if that's the most comfortable for you. The fixed ridgeline is set at approx 83% of the hammock body length, which is good for many folks. It's good that...
MamaSmurf and I enjoyed meeting everybody during our short visit Saturday evening.
Thank you for the warm welcome. Maybe next time I can get away for an entire weekend and do some real hanging.
That one's on the list to be partially re-written and converted over to the new site as soon as we get some time. Will try to do that one next.
Thank you very much roman01ca.
Congrats on getting your GF hanging and condolences for losing your TB on first hang.
Here's #3 zipper. Takes about the same time. Helps to have a marker clenched i your teeth.
Meh, bout the same with #3 zipper.
The only fabrics we currently aren't using for single layer hammocks is the 1.0 & 1.1 regular ripstops. Instead, we are using the 1.0oz HyperD diamond ripstop for our lightest hammocks. We use lots...
The email I just sent bounced back as undeliverable.
I agree with everyone's comments so far. Definitely an 11ft length and a double layer of the 1.6oz HyperD fabric should provide you...
Got the hammock calculator working and added it to the site last night. http://www.dream-hammock.com/HammockCalculator.html
They have been updated and ready to go.

Last night we finished up a re-design of the website. There's still lots to do and more pages to add and we will try to add them as we get the opportunity.
One thing I might add is that...
We got the new website up and running last night. We've got several more pages to fix up and plan to add new stuff as we get the opportunity.
Sorry to hear of your poor experience with this fabric. We have had the opportunity to use hundreds and hundreds of yards of almost every one of the HyperD colors and have had no issues at all. We...
Here's the most recent one we did that had both open top pocket and the peak shelf. On this we went just a little smaller on the open top pocket to give it a touch more separation...
Yes, this is a 1.8oz high count nylon taffeta in the Night Grid Camo pattern. It has a slightly denser, finer weave than many of our other 70d nylon taffeta fabrics. It feels a little plasticy when...
Our website can certainly be confusing because of all the options available. We're currently working on revisions to many of the pages, but we're not quite there yet. If we can help you...
There is a fabric calculator located here.
Using a fabric size of 139.5" x 60", which accounts roll hemming all 4 sides and adding 3" channels....
With our waiting list growing weekly, I'll be in the workshop every weekend.
Thanks and I too hope we can begin to bring the turnaround times down.
The new Dark Olive and Hunter Green colors are I think nicer and more subdued than many of the others.
Take a peek at this photo with the net and overcover partially zipped.
The DangerBird has a zipper along each side of the hammock that...
Depends on your height and preferences. I'm 5'7" and sleep comfortably in a 10ft hammock every night. I have no use for a longer hammock because it does not improve my comfort. I have also slept many...
Yes, I wish we could build these faster and reduce our lead time, but I would never want the quality to suffer just to get them shipped sooner.
Everybody has been very understanding through this...
Thank you for the kind thoughts. Maintaining the highest quality possible is huge for us and that's why my wife and I personally build every single part of your hammock ourselves right here...
Tad small for any real bad weather, but could easily get you through a Summer if you don't have bigger.
Given those choices, my guess is that you would be far more comfortable in the BIAS 11ft hammock.
Thanks Jari, we'll do our best.
I did see your order and I'll get that entered into our order list late tonight after we finish here in the workshop.
Here's a color combination that you don't see very often, but ended up looking very nice.
Outside: 1.9oz MultiCam
Inside: 1.6oz HyperD, Robin Egg Blue
We do have 72" fabrics that we use when the situation calls for it. This particular hammock shown in the video is a double layer offset to 72" wide. There is an exposed seam along the calf area where...
This video shows a gentleman (the one in the Orange shirt) who is pretty much the same height and weight as you (6'5", 240lbs, I think). The hammock is an 11ft x 72" wide flex body. This should give...
Thanks a bunch howlinmadman. Just now sitting down to work on emails so I'll get your order detail page up shortly. Yea, folks have been keeping us pretty busy lately and we certainly appreciate it.
These are nice. I have 3 of the 6 footers and a 3 foot one that I use most every day.
They not only work as a straight edge, but have enough weight to hold ornery fabric down and flat.
My leftover permethrin gets sprayed around the back porch, window screens, doorway, etc. to help control insects.
Awesome. Thank you.
That particular fabric is the 1.6oz HyperD, Olive Drab. We also have it in the Dark Olive & Hunter Green. http://www.dream-hammock.com/Fabric.html
Thank you very much. This one did look pretty sharp.
The weights shown on the hammock calculator include everything in the stuff sack, ready to go. (hammock, suspension, straps, guylines, net and overcover, etc.)
The overcover and it's removable...
I'm glad this one will work out well for you. Very nice photos. These sure look nicer out hanging than in my workshop.
That is correct. The shape of the netting or overcover determine whether the hammock is right lay or left lay.
Yes, I have built a few in this style.
Yes, I agree. A FreeBird + Sock would be a much simpler solution.
Probably wouldn't work to try and flip or reverse the zipper as they're meant on fit together only one way.
The second zipper would need to be stitched on upside down either on the body or...
No problem. I just ordered new tarps today from UGQ so I'm good.
You're absolutely right, Kyle is always coming up with new and exciting stuff.
Yep, just right for displaying hammocks while staying dry.
Here's a photo of Missy's setup.
You gotta cut me a little slack here. Most of my purchases are pretty boring. "Oh boy, I got more fabric and webbing, Whoop-de-do" When I do get new gear, I usually made it. Feels good to let the...
Just ordered a few Hanger 12 tarps with the double pole mods. We're gonna be rockin in style at hangs we are able to attend. I'm pretty exited to add these to our gear.
