Listen up, MY way is THE best! No really, it’s quite nice. Take two lines. Tie a bowline knot on one end of each line. Be generous with the size of the loop. A larger loop is easier to thread...

I normally wear a 12 regular in Altras. These are 12 double wides and I stepped down to a pair of 11 double wides. It is much easier to get away with a looser fit with mukluks. Part of the core...

You mean the typical mesh bag hung from the inside of the peak? Well the SLD bag has more volume and it’s much easier to get into with the zipper design. You can literally put a pair of high top...

  16. Have you used the Hammock Gear hex tarp with linelocs?

From everything I have read, LL3’s are not strong enough to hold the tension of a tarp ridgeline. But NAMA Claws are perfect for the tarp ridgeline. These Claws do well for all sorts of applications....

How warm can 0 degree underquilt go?

  40. Help Choosing UQ: SLD Asym or HG Econ Incubator?

Good choice. 20° is popular choice in general and still a reasonable packed volume for synthetic. The one thing about synthetic is it will start getting rather bulky at winter weights (10° and below).

  45. Any Florida hangers familiar with the 1" strap for tarp and hammock rules?

I think a more logical compromise is in order:
    1.5” huggers for hammock
    0.5” standard huggers for tarp

Cardboard or sticks work great in a pinch though.
  46. Ultimate Hang's review of the Ninox Flat Lay Hammock

Well, there is the SLD Streamliner. It has curved ends, shifting the sweet spot more in line, allowing for cat-cuts in the sides. The goals are to save weight and lower view blocking walls.

  50. Ultimate Hang's review of the Ninox Flat Lay Hammock

That’s why I think he didn’t though. According to SMR, it is not a rectangle. It’s got wavy shaped end channels that the webbing suspension loops thread through. Supposedly, it raises you butt,...
