Good job looks good but I must warn you, it's addictive don't ask me how I know that
You guys are IMHO in a league of your own :scared: Thanks for sharing, it was fun watching while sitting on the couch, drinking a cup of (hot) tea.
Welcome, you have a nice collection there :thumbup1:
Wow that's really BLUE, and the lights are nice. Is the tarp silnylon? Looks really nice, good job.
Looks good, but be warned, it becomes addictive
I'm happy with the coverage. I've used it with "light" rain and its been fine. I have no experience with heavy rain, however I'm confident if I put it down low/ tight it would cover me. I'm sure it...
Welcome, the AT and hammock camping is great.
I have no input since my "low" is down in the 50's :shades: looks and sounds like you had a good time.
On my tarp I started with the taunt hitch which I really liked, then I bought line locs from HF store, they were fun but I'm back to using the taunt hitch. I just DIY two tarps for my sons and sewed...
I have a traveler and I use the edge tarp, it works well, it's light and easy to set up.
I use a full length RL and taunt hitch guy lines. I have no doors and I guess it takes me under 10 min to set up. I like the FL RL its easy for me to center the tarp and I like the v it creates, so...
Welcome, Boston a great city.
Good for you! You are doing your dang and having fun, that's what it's all about. I must say 15 degrees is a little cool, but I guess if you have the right gear it makes a difference. Living in...
Wow that looks like it would be ahhhhh "interesting". I like cool weather but I don't know about down in the teens . We (wife and I) were up in MA just recently visiting, we especially liked our...
Looks good.
Tarps looks interesting, I guess you see the moon and stars pretty good :D
The funny thing about the rolled hem foot is that I have gone to Joann's fabric and they had no idea what I was talking about and even tried a private sewing machine service place and they had one...
Is that foot on the right a rolling hem foot?l
I've used my old mag lite (2 AA) unscrewing the lens and its a little candle light. If ii want serious light I use my jetbeam BA 10, it uses 1 AA. It's a great little flashlight check it out.
Welcome, sounds like a good time, but the teens sounds a bit cold for this Florida blooded person
Looks good.
I have used and will continue to use DIYGEARSUPPLY (Scott) great service.
Good advice.
I'm going on what I had read on this forum about the shiny side being on the top position when making your tarp, I've also read that some say it doesn't matter which side is up. This is my first...
I've been doing some serious DIY. I know there has been many, including myself, who can't tell which side is the shiny side on silnylon. I noticed that when I marked the silnylon with my fabric...
Good luck! And have fun...
Perfect timing, I just switched from an adjustable webbing suspension to a whoopie sling, to see which one I prefer. Thanks for sharing...
I just made my first whoopie sling and now I understand why some say it is addictive. Thanks, your video was a tremendous help it definitely made it easier.
I agree, being from Florida I can't imagine hangin in below 0 temps. Mr. Shug is a true adventurer.
Looks nice good job.
I've ordered four times from Scott and never paid more than $11 and one purchase was a fairly good sized one. You can calculate your shipping at the end (very reasonable).
His prices and shipping cost are very reasonable along with great service.
Place looks nice .
Good job, hairpins to hold in place that's a good idea.
Looks good, nice job on the circle you have skills.
Looks nice, what are the knots on RL for?
That looks very peaceful.
There is nothing wrong when you LEARN and make the correction, good for you for being honest.
I'm going to make a couple of tarps and I'm going to use grosgrain on the RL only. As red said it's going to be faster/easier and I think less likely to leak.
Wow snow, I'm sweating as I write this.
Very nice job, are you using the smaller rings on your suspension line (one inch)? Possibly looks smaller in the photo?
I find it hard to believe that some people still use rope. Webbing is the way to go for so many reasons..
You did a great job for your very first sewing project.
I'm using grosgrain on the ridgeline only and hemming the rest. I'm no expert but I would imagine the grosgrain does add a little strength (and weight)' but do you really NEED it??
Nice job! I'm also making a couple of DIY tarps for Christmas presents and I agree DIY is fun and addictive.
Welcome, I'm Learning to sew while making DIY hammock, it doesn't sound right but somehow it's all coming together experience is the best teacher.
Looks nice, I'm making two from the same plans (Christmas presents). I purchased everything I needed for two hammock, mosquito netting, tarp, and suspension from Scott and will again in the future.
Welcome from central Fl hammocks are so much cooler in the summer than tents..
Nice website and the return policy is incredible, good luck..
Your first post? Wow great pics and write up. Thank god you didn't get in a hurry and take a razor and oh never mind...... Good luck with your new gear!
