I wish you the best of luck. I have not personally seen any of your work, but it sounds like great stuff. Good to see you are getting it back to how you enjoy it without the added stress of deadlines...

I wouldn't worry about it. There is almost always something in season to hunt. No matter where or when. Bow hunters have to get much closer before they shoot. They should be able to tell the...

My 9 yr old son and I would love to go. I'll just have to see when we get closer. We are good for walking in or car camping.
I had one of my hammocks set up in my loft upstairs. I strung it between to walls. I hat a 2x4 bolted into two adjacent studs. It work fine for quite some time. I would lounge around in it without...
We could always hang between two cacti.
I would be interested. Just depends on date and location.

Thanks for all the quick replies! Great info!
I making a DIY double layer for my father for this Christmas. My question is should I go with 1/8" Amsteel for the whoopies or is 7/64" ok? He's about 6', 260ish Lbs. I'm sure this has been discussed...
Great idea. I was looking for some Blaze Orange. Just put in an order. Great prices too!
Welcome to the forum! From what I've seen, there are a few AZ hangers on here. There was a group hang a couple months back. Unfortunately though, I missed it.
Don't know if it will help you or not, but there is an entire thread about hanging in different states.

Hope that helps.

Try going from joist to joist instead of the poles. Lots of different threads here doing just that. Plus you will be able to get a farther distance for a better hang angle.
Just my two cents.
I'm in! Thanks!
I have a goal in life, to never sleep on the ground again. Once you figure out how to stay warm (this site has TONS of great info), you will never go back to ground again. I started off the...
Looks like a lot of fun! I wish I had a place like that just a 30 minute hike from my house. I'd even take a 30 minute drive. Its hot here in the desert! :-)
OK, I still rather new here. I've been using whoopies and toggles with a MSH for a while now. I don't really see how to hang it on the toggle. Can someone post a picture of the right and wrong way to...
Yes, they do fantastic work. I love my Incubator!
That thin wire you can find in the picture hanging section at your local hardware store works great. A couple dollars for a roll. Worked great to make several for the scouts to use while splicing...
I have not hung at a most of these sites due to the fact that I have not been there since I started hanging. Here are some I thought of off the top of my head:
Any parts of the Highline Trail on...

Out of curiosity, which scout camp was this?
This is from scout camp this summer. Blue Ridge Reservoir, Az.
I am using a DN. There is no partition in mine. Unless its a new addition / design.
I just got done helping 18 of my scouts make hammocks. We used the tablecloths, made woopies, and used harbor freight straps. Total cost came to $24 per boy after shipping and all that. Most of them...
Is this the one you were thinking of?

I started hanging last summer. I was going on a week scout hiking trip, and I needed a better sleeping arrangement. I just didn’t want to backpack with my 6 person tent! Stumbled across this forum....
