I wouldn't trust EMT unless you use something over 1" maybe. Even then EMT is far too soft and can be bent easily under stress. My stand which I've used for 7 plus years is made of 3/4" GRC(rigid)....

I stand corrected as I always thought it was loose fill.
I've never worked with Primaloft but what I've read its a loose fill material. So I would say you would be best using baffles.
I have never used climbing webbing but most climbing ropes/webbing are made of nylon. Nylon will work but has a habit of stretching. I used nylon one night and woke up sitting in my hammock on the...

You're going to need some insulation be it a pad or UQ when it gets around 70 deg +/- as some sleep warmer than others. As for the brand of UQ you can use any vendor or DIY one. The savings going...
I use the Dutch buckle. Light weight, easy to use and as RR mentioned the buckles have a small piece of shock cord to ensure the amsteel doesnt slide off.
You don't need anything between you and the hammock when using an UQ.
Looks horribly uncomfortable on both the back and wallet. $32k:rolleyes:
^^^^ agree.
Sent you a PM. Don't want to take over Baja's post.
I prefer snake skins, much easiest to setup in the wind.
If you're car camping or willing to sacrifice hiking with more weight. You can always use a heavier fabric beyond ripstop nylon. Hammocks are easy to DIY.
Really depends on the size of the trees avaible. With that said you should be well covered. My straps and slings I've got about 11'-12'.
Depending on the weather. I hang my pack from a tree or my suspension for foul weather
Haha! Im still laughing... Thanks
:D
Valid point. I've had the same thing happen with my shoulders. Not often as I don't normally move much in my sleep. Hopefully two layers will work for you if not maybe you can extend the pad at the...
Looking good! As for the double layer, you could do as JRB does with their bridge. They make the second layer just big enough for a pad. So basically a pad pocket as opposed to what I guess you would...
Looks great! You could sew the DC in place if you planned on using them 100% of the time. Reduces the chance of losing them.
:lol::lol:
Like Browny mentioned, just look for physical wear and UV damage. Beyond that you shouldn't have any issues.
Welcome to HF from Austin!
Looks great Bohlmann! Awesome gift even more so since it's DIY.
The best way to search is by using google or the like. Enter

I just used a larks head, no issues.. There may be a better way but I havent seen any problems and my hammock has some hours/miles on her.
Great little trailer, well done!
Looks super little. I wonder how well it would work for a hammock. Personally I only use a pad for two reasons(well three if you want to count that Im cheap) it keeps me warm and helps with...
Guess that really depends how tall you are:D Either way I believe the 12' would be more comfortable but don't think that will meet your 16oz goal. Yeah I know, I'm a ton of help
I have the same problem with the BB and slings. Just haven't come up with a good fix just yet:(
It's not broken really, just posted in the donating members only section
Has anyone tried the taffeta/ripstop from Titanium Goat? I've been thinking about making a TQ using their taffeta but was looking for some first hand experience with this material.

Some great ideas and interesting ways to tie your tarp. I'm going to have to give some a try next time I can get outdoors. Thanks for taking the time to make a video!:thumbup1:
Welcome Hangandy! I'm not sure about cheaper but as most all hangers will agree its a much better alternative:D

So true! Well said David:thumbup1:
Maybe I'm slow(ok I am) but I couldn't find any thing about a New Version. They just mention that for 2011 everything will be optional. Did I miss something:confused:
I recently ordered a SP300 from Moutainsports. No complaints here, prompt shipping:cool:
Have you had the chase to use a bridge style hammock? Although they may not be for everyone. To me they are the most comfortable hammock:cool: They work well for people that roll in their sleep or...
Great work, looks warm:cool:

Welcome to HF Wildman, also from Austin:cool:
It would've been better if you hadn't mentioned you were making a bridge and suprised us when it was ready
Now I just have to eagerly wait to see what you come up with while I slowly save...
I only have the new version and dont have a scale. If you were to go off the JRB website: " The subject Dutch Clips weigh 12 grams each. The earlier, heavier Dutch Clips weigh 15 grams each and are...
They were recently re-designed to prevent a rotation issue. The new version is the one you see at JRB.
I believe the new version is lighter
Not at all, you will love them!
Interesting... I might have to work out something like this for mine, can't stand the omni tape.
Try using the code: BACKPACK
the website Gqgeek81 metioned had this code listed for tanga.com
Your best bet would be to contact HF member GrizzlyAdams.
