Welcome from a DFW hanger!
May I suggest a venture to the DIY section? From your intro, it sounds like you might be the type to sort out your insulation shortage there :)

Female who wouldn't go back to a tent even if I were forced to wear a pink poncho :D
Perhaps a subtle hint they might not want to have all the things with them at all times because nature has...
Currently using a Hennessy Adventure Racer as my primary and prior to that a Hyperlite, so my experience is with A-sym hammocks only: As someone who is primarily a side-sleeper, I initially found it...
Woo Hoo!! A hanger after my own heart... Thanks for sharing the Sierra side of the country.
Sharing this with the crowd simply because I found it amusing that someone not only lugged this down there, but chose to set it up in front of the webcam. Just some silliness for a...
I don't know whether or not I would have been able to maintain any residual sanity while working on my BlackCat tarp without a "walking foot."
Practice as noted above and consider this worthy...
Nothing long-winded about it IMHO.:) And, great pics - loved the one you labeled "Dense Forest."
Thanks for giving back to site.
Ayce over @ Thru-Hiker has always struck me as a knowledgeable and trustworthy guy, but YMMV.
If you haven't already done so, you may want to take a look through the forum section on the site in...
Not to salt wounds, but got mine today!
Looks like another fine piece of workmanship from the Jacks that I shall look forward to putting to use on an upcoming trip.
Caprock Canyons State Park (didn't bother with the Trailway part) was a wonderful change of scenery!
Doesn't get quite the crowds Palo Duro often does, but then again when I was there (Caprock)...
Del... great work! those things are beautiful.
I vote Shug for the uber-cold weather gear tester!
Put me down for 10 please.
And, thanks for being the point person on this one!
Don't know if you've already scoped these instructions yet, but this page really helped me get a better idea of what was meant by "quilting" thanks to the pictures that accompanied them.
Am in the midst of putting my own together and have used your instructions (and Jeff's superb coding skills) as a guide.
My thanks to you both for provided such clear cut directions, quality pics...
Backpacking... Will be a member of the home-napping club once I put a stand together:)
Mom: Thanks for the chuckle at your expense! Hope you gave that boy a good talkin to:D for breaking out the camera before breaking you out of the nylon and mesh enclosure.
Cerberus: How cool to...
MLD showing the hammock crowd some love!
Thanks Ron.
Sorry Griz. I should have been more specific or learn to read full sentences rather than skim. I spoke with Rochford Supply.
Ah, the wonders of modern technology... I just called (since I was the one to post the info in the first place) and was told they sell to anyone with a minimum order of twenty-five dollars.:D
Thought someone might be interested considering all the talk I hear (see?) about camo fabrics.
Camo of varied weights on sale!
Can only speak re: the Momentum - the flat/matte side is the right side.
Looks great Patrick!
In case you hadn't stumbled across it http://www.hammockforums.net/links/browselinks.php?c=9 has links for some of the suppliers forum members have used/know about. Also, scroll down a bit here...
I decided make the investment in titanium http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/xdpy/sf/Shelter%20Systems/Titanium%20Tent%20Stakes/index.html?. As long as you don't lose them,...
What about some Frogg Toggs http://www.froggtoggs.com/for raingear - relatively inexpensive and functional.
He's quite the designer isn't he?!
I've used some of his designs for reference, etc before. Mostly via the drawings and pics though since I don't speak the language. Hadn't seen the hammock...
I, too, sprung for the Momentum and am impressed by the weight (or lack thereof) and feel of it.
The only thing I don't like is the second-guessing I subjected myself to before cutting out my...
Turk,
Have to say I like the thought process/belief of getting it all out in front of you, so to speak.
Should we ever meet in person I hope you don't mind if I do some surreptitious...
Great hammock pics! Now how about some so I/we can read those tats?!:D
Agree with Slowhike i.e. tape may work, so might sewing a patch, but both of these may not ultimately be the answer to not having to start all over again.
Am not sure exactly how, but for some...
Great looking hammock! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Stumbled upon this and thought I'd share http://www.virtualparks.org/. Mostly West Coast, but the panoramic shots are simply wonderful!
Gives me additional fuel for my recent urge to do the JMT!
To add to the data:
Oware http://owareusa.com/fabric.html
Rockywoods http://www.rockywoods.com/index.html
I picked up a couple of yards from http://www.rockywoods.com/nylons_main.htm#ripstop where it was "On Sale" for 12.99yd.
The stuff looks and feels pretty bombproof though YMMV.
And, if Cannibal doesn't have it, I do. Just let me know :)
