Yeah, sorry about that. My donating member status lapsed, and my inbox instantly shrunk.
Working on it now.

Merry Christmas bump. $30 reduction to $150. Paid almost twice that new, so that's as low as I can go.

Bump. Still available.

I haven't tried the opposite lay, but I do believe the differential cut would make that position slightly less comfortable.

No love, huh?

I'd second the opinion on the bridge hammock. I wasn't convinced for a long time, but it really was a huge step up when I went that direction.
If that's not an option, have you tried laying on a...
How bout some more info for those of us that purchased second hand and will likely have to DIY a solution?
I did a solo night on the Old Pennsylvania Logger's Path a few years ago. I hung my hammock in an out of the way spot (not an established campground), ate a quick rehydrated meal (no fire), and went...
Instead of sliding the innertube around the whole part and obscuring the antenna, why can't you find a smaller innertube that only covers the body of the piece and leaves the antenna free?
Potential trade offer. PM Sent.
The trees must have moved closer together, Ent style...
I use Dutch's cinch bugs with either a 12 foot or 15 foot strap (I forget which). These hook right to the continuous loops on my hammock. With this setup I can hang an 11' hammock with trees just a...
Bridge hammock is found. Thread will be closed.
Emphasis mine.
For posterity, PM Sniping is not appreciated in a WTB thread.

Me: Looking to buy a bridge hammock
You: Looking to sell a bridge hammock
What I'm looking for:
-Used is good. My camping fund can't swing a new $200+ hammock right now (without serious...
All edges except the inside edges of the doors (when hung) were cat cut as per here: (http://diygearsupply.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/DIYGS-Winter-Tarp-lowres.jpg)
I happened to have a 7...
Well I guess it comes down to your perspective. I could have bought an oes tarp that weighs a few ounces less for over $100. I just saw a cuben tarp that weighed 9 oz sell here for $350. Outside of...
It's been almost a year since my last tarp project, so I figured it was time to get my rear in gear. That, and I left my go-to hex tarp in the woods. :cursing::cursing: This tarp was made using...
Sweet! It was neat to see the new shop last year. Can't wait!
In theory you could sag each hammock at 30 degrees AND sag the system at 30 degrees as well, but in practice it would limit your hanging options.
Honestly, $80 sounds a bit steep for three straps sewn onto a climbing ring... come to think of it, I have all the stuff just sitting around to make one of these of my own!! All my hammocks are about...
On the home front, I follow my Dad's mantra: "If it moves, it dies."
In the woods, "If it's in my hammock, it dies." That goes for mosquitoes, moths, etc. I have yet to figure out how to apply...
I read the title and immediately thought of this

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! I'm not sure how often I'll use it out in the wild, since I like a little more protection overhead. It was really just to see if I could follow the directions...
Found one, thanks
I'll take the incubator. Pm inbound
If the deal falls through for any reason, I'll take it.
Mornin!
I just wanted to share my first DIY tarp that I finished up last night. It's the Asym design found over on diygearsupply (linky)
I bought all the materials a year or two ago and never got...

Two Dutch Wasps for sale. I used them on maybe 1-2 trips with my Hennessy Hex, but I've since decided I like my continuous ridgeline better.
$20 Shipped to continental US.
Title pretty much says it all. Looking for a good condition Hammock Gear 20 degree incubator. I have a trip coming up in a little over a month from now that I'd like to use it on. If you have a 20...
Micro drone 2.0. It has mixed reviews, but it was one of the cheapest with a camera, and it's small enough I'd actually consider fitting it in my pack.
I haven't gotten to use it yet (just ordered online), but my new luxury item will be a camera equipped micro drone. I'm looking forward to some unique aerial shots on my hikes.
What are you hanging from, and where is the other end anchored?? That's a long distance to stretch your suspension, given the forces involved. Is the main suspension piece a cable?
I'm in. Thanks for the offer! Haven't had a chance to try out any BIAS gear yet. Fingers crossed!
I generally like to see signatures, but I too am annoyed by the most giant ones. This very same discussion happened years ago on another forum to which I belong.

Thanks for all the great replies! I've always been a gear and gadget guy, which is why I see the Atlas straps as sort of a cop-out. I always like to try out the latest and greatest stuff (and lighter...
My 6 year old niece loves my hammock, and every time she comes to visit, she wants to know if I can hang my hammock up for her. So, I figured why not get her a nice little setup for Christmas?...
Count me in, please!
Long ago I had issues getting the tarp taut, and staying that way. My solution was to loosely set the CRL at the trees, get the tarp set, then go back and tension the CRL using the figure 9 as a...
I'm not a grand trunk guy, or eno guy, or warbonnet guy, etc. I am, however, a yukon outfitters guy. I was lured in by woot! a few years ago, bought a hammock, did some research, found HF.net, and...
Any updates? I've been trolling his site for the last few months waiting for this stuff to come back in stock. I sent an email on July 18th requesting a sil status update that has unfortunately gone...

I'll take it. PM to follow.
I've hung everywhere from about 2" to nearly 5 feet, depending on the situation.
I used reflectix as a pad on a single layer hammock, and it made my back quite damp. I have some fleece to add to it as an experiment, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
It will depend on how you're using them. How is the rest of your system designed? Are you using straps with climbing rings attached near the hammock, or are you using straps with toggles and whoopie...
So if I hunt with you, I'll gain supernatural powers of sight? Count me in!!
I got my UCR from Dutch. His come with a prusik at the tail, and it got the job done just fine.
