I'll take this.
I'll bring a wisk, incase no one else does. Should be there sometime tomorrow afternoon. Looking forward to it :D
I'm in! !
Sounds like fun! Deep Lake is a nice place.
I can bring a two-burner stove as well, and easily help cooking breakfast. I may have a dutch oven to spare, depending on if my buddy comes himself or...
Congrats! It is always a good day when gear is in the mail!
I have made two Fronkey Style bug nets. They work well to provide you full coverage instead of a integrated bug net.

I really like the colors you have picked out. Looking forward to some pictures of these hammocks setup!
:) Thanks! I've actually never had lobster before, to be honest. I know it is a must have on this trip!
We'll have to check it out!
That's what I keep hearing. We've been out west and...
Hello everyone!
I'm planning a trip this June to Maine. Specifically, we'll be staying at blackwoods campground within Acadia NP and roaring brook campground in BSP.
How is the hanging in those...
Man I am impressed!
I second the idea from others, about making sure you will be stable enough. I cringe to think about what happens when the wind turns that tarp into a sail:confused:
Let us...
Well...I've made a new list :)

Great sale PS. Congrats other buyers.
Well put my name in! Good luck everyone.
With the extra long weekend nearing for many, I thought it would be fun to share what hammock related plans you may have - be it DIY, trips, whatever!
So, what are you planning to use your...
Not sure if it matters, but using snake skins, my tarp is always attached to my contiguous tarp ridgeline using shackle prussic. I find that snake skins for your tarp really reduce the setup time....
I hear you! I was on the Kalamazoo River yesterday, wasn't so bad. Off the water though, was another story . Seriously, I see them swarming just hanging around town and peoples houses. All the...
I'd love to go to this. Hopefully it will work out! Haven't really been 'backpacking' yet though I have all stuff it seems. Good time as any to get my feet wet!
I used some heavy duty metal snaps. I'd like to say they were 5/8ths?
Yep...this is what I used http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/5/8-heavy-duty-fastener-plier-kit-733006/
Welcome! You are in the right place. Quite a few of us Michiganders on here.
Looks like I have something new to do with my spool of Zing-It. Thanks for sharing! This looks great.
Great picture! Looks like a good time outdoors.
Thanks for sharing! I didn't you know had big trees down there
I have permission from the wife, so I'll take this!

I did snaps on mine. It was really easy and it works well. Velcro is additional sewing and has that snagging potential. The snaps hold well and get the job done.
You can find it http://wildernesslogics.com/NETTING-NETTING.htm or http://www.backwoodsdaydreamer.com/products-page/mesh-netting/.
I've purchased from both, great service.
Whooo boy! I'm in!
I have the Toxaway and love it. Great product; like others have said you can add pull outs if you want them.
So I'm diving in on this project. Picked up materials yesterday.
I'm planning on making a 13' ridge pole, using 3 sections of top rail (2 - 4' and 5') .
My question is, what is a good starting...
My package arrived today and it looks like I have some hammocks to make :boggle: Thanks for the hard work getting it out the door. Looking forward to the report about how the project's go for the...
Let's see....
1) Blackbird XLC tribute SL with 1.1 ripstop
2) TD stand
3) Winter silnylon tarp
4) Griz beak for summer tarp
5) A 1.6 SL hammock w/o bugnet for spring/fall
6) Maybe a...
I assume you are making a hammock! 1.1 oz should be good to about 200 lbs, but I wouldn't do more load than that.
I would hem all the edges of the hammock body. You may want to checkout the...
Looking really good joanwest! I really enjoyed making my TQ! It looks like you got a keeper as well! I love making my own gear; it may not be as perfect as some of the cottage vender stuff, but I...
Man, I must have missed this thread couple days ago!
Google + hangouts sound like a great way to share ideas and current projects.
This seems like a great idea to keep the for sale forum cleaner; additionally, it is a great historical area to lookup gear prices for items you may be interested in.
You may find the thread I started when making my TQ helpful. In there are some links to other TQ projects I found helpful.

1 - I think you will be fine with a single pass. That is what I did with my DN.
2 - I used the existing rope. Untie the knot and get to the point where you have a free end out each side of the...
Man, 1.1 now too?
Looks like you got me for another 4yd of 1.1 oz.
I saw you mention this in another thread and I picked up one of these attachments. I haven't played with it yet but it seems like it will make rolled hems easier.
Thanks for the ideas on...
Thanks for the extra detail, that is what I needed!
I'm going to try and tackle this with my ACU 1.6 ripstop that is on the way. We'll see how it turns out.
I think I understand most of this process except for this step. Is this essentially sewing the end channel together so that it remains bunched up for example even without the whoopie sling in it? I...
I'll take 2 of the $15 deals. PM inbound.
Wow! Nice giveaway. I'm always down for some Dutchware.
PS - I'm even dutch!
I'm in! Sweet!
When I was sizing for my TQ project, I took a fleece blanket, used it like a top quilt and had my wife pin around my shoulders and feet at the appropriate length. Then, I added a few inches to the...
Thanks for all the suggestions! Both sections are the same fabric, so a winter sock may be in the cards...more investigation is in order!
I have my hands on 2 yd of 60" wide duck canvas and 4 yd at 30" wide.
Any ideas on what to make with it? I thought about a winter sock, but I don't think it is enough material.
Thanks! I really appreciated your project post as I was doing this project!
You bet I am! Congrats on your own quilt. Gear is always better when you know the effort and work you put into it.

I would check out the advice in here: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=19006
I managed to finish up my top quilt project this weekend! I must say, I think it turned out very well for my first major project. I've previously tackled a bug net, snake skins and stuff sacks. This...
